50% off coupon at Fictionwise this weekend only - Page 3

Try it anyway. I just put something from the New eBooks listing into my shopping cart and even though the coupon is technically expired, it still deducted the price.

Mind you, I haven't clicked through to purchase yet, but September's 50% off coupon kept working for about 2 days after official expiry and if you're worried about getting dinged, FW seem to be making a habit of doing this every couple of months and no doubt they'll have holiday sales.

ETA: Just so you don't get the impression I confused the standard 15% new book discount, it was Greg Bear's The Forge of God, regularly 9.99, new book discount to 8.49, and 50% off discount to $4.25 in the shopping cart.

Give it a try - their coupons usually don't expire for a day or two after they say they will!

ETA: I just tried it and as of a couple of minutes ago it is still working.

That makes sense. And it explains why one epub I bought from them looked like it had been converted from another format. Not a very good conversion. I don't normally buy from B&N, I mainly signed up for their free offers. Now I'm even less inclined to buy from them knowing I could end up with an epub that had been converted from pdb.

I miss FW Micropay rebates, especially their 100% rebates.

I have to agree with everyone who says its gone down hill since B&N bought it
FW was the only place I shopped now I can't find a book on there thats not geo restricted

Strictly speaking, geo-restrictions are not Fictionwise's fault, it's the publishers.

I'm just really curious why only some people seem to know about them. Where are they announced? It seems to be some big secret nobody wants to reveal for some reason.

I didn't realize this either. I always buy the multi-format so I don't pay too much attention to the "right side" of the page with all the mainstream titles. No wonder so many people are annoyed with FW. It doesn't seem like a wise business move to alienate readers by reducing the formats available.

I got an email, but it's the first one I've gotten from FW in quite awhile.

Same here I got an e-mail with the offer. It's not always 50% off but now and then the good offers pop up.

The multiformat books are not geo-restricted.

Sorry most of you are having trouble finding anything good there. I have more luck with just browsing through the various genre categories I like and checking out any that look interesting through samples and reviews at Amazon. I've found a lot of new authors that way and gotten to try them at a low price. I plan to stick with them until the end as long as there is anything good left. I have been shopping with them since they opened and have definitely gotten my money's worth.

However, I am jealous because I have never gotten the 50% off coupons

, and no coupons for a long time.
