LOL--I thought you meant the beginning and end dates. I truly wasn't trying to be insulting. Lots of folks read the end of a long thread, but not necessarily the beginning.

I just used this to buy The Finkler Question. It popped at me on the front page and, surprisingly, the price was not utterly outrageous. It looks like the promo code worked, so I paid $8.39, that's not too bad. I read the first page on Amazon before buying and the book looks good. Plus of course it got the Booker prize, that's how I read about it in the first place.

I just finished it. I had a bit of trouble getting into it, but I sure was sorry to get to the end. I love it when I end up actually caring about characters--so many books seem to be all about the action and not about the people being portrayed.

It was between The Finkler Question and Great House by Nicole Krauss, but it's been bothering me some lately that I always choose male authors so opted for Great House. Got Spies of the Balkans the other day w/a $1.00 coupon.

No offense taken, taming. I sometimes get a bit defense because it seems to me I ask a lot of stupid questions.
