That's one of the reasons why the Baen Free Library was started up. People borrow books from friends or the library all the time, but if they see what is out there they might be more likely to buy their own copies. I agree there is more movie traffic on torrents than books(legal or not). I remember seeing one recently where the new Harry Potter movie (# 7 part 1) was supposed to be available. Hard to believe as it hadn't even been released to theaters yet much less for the public to buy on DVD. So either it was a fake (most likely) or someone from the studio would have had to upload it. I wonder how many people fell for it too.
