I read in less places and at less times than I would like to, but I seem to find it more and more difficult to concentrate and/or get engrossed in a book for short(er) periods of time.
Generally I prefer the evening for fiction, even while I technically have time during the day to read as well. Non-fiction seem to be "allowed" at all times ![]() ![]() |

I've found that the time I have the least risk getting disturbed reading is during breakfast, around 6am. I try to get in 15-25 minutes before running of to work. Then evenings, after children have been fed and wrestled to their respective beds, dishes have been done etc.
Next week the kids will be on holiday with their grand-parents, which will provide lots of reading time. |

I love that people are reading during rainstorms and snowstorms! I love weather like that, the more intense the better!

Being a sailor, I mostly read on the longhaul flights between home and wherever my ship is. And when onboard, I read an hour or three in bed.
At home I read whenever I have time. Often that time is while warming up my wife's side of the bed ![]() Anyway, it is going to be a new era, not needing to bring all those bulky pbooks around the world. Hopefully this flight home in 6 days will be my last with a DTB. ![]() Question; "cuppa" as somone mentioned? Is that "a cup of tea" or something similar? Please bear with a non-native English speaking fella. ![]() |

Generally, my reading habits are as follows.
During the week: About 30 minutes in the morning while I am doing cardio (treadmill, elliptical or cycle). Alas I can't use it if I doing resistence and/or swimming ![]() Lunch... Read while I eat and until the end of my lunch break (figure 45 minutes). After Dinner is done, my son is in bed and the house has been straightened up (My wife and I team up on this... so its not all me ![]() Weekends, I actually get to read less. Doing work around the house and watching my son (he is only 15 months old, so pretty much needs constant attention).. I generally get to read in the evening assuming we stay home. -- Bill |

I read in the morning before work, during the day whenever I let the dogs out (I have to keep half an eye on them to make sure they don't dig), after work until I have to start dinner, after dinner till the husband is ready to watch someing on TV, and after TV if I'm not too tired.
The past few days I've been doing most of my reading waiting for Black Rebel Motorcycle Club shows to start. One more show tonight...maybe I can get The Many Deaths of the Firefly Brothers finished. |

I always carried a book with me. You never know when you'll be stuck for 25 minutes in a line a MVD or in a doctor's waiting room. I had a boss who enjoyed making people wait and I enjoyed saying, "Don't hurry. I'm almost to the end of the chapter." I had bookweights to hold my place while I ate breakfast, lunch, or dinner.
Now, with my Kindle, it's the same but without the bookweight. |

...depends on the material.
When reading books, I don't start for just a couple of minutes. So I'm reading books mainly on the train (about 6 to 10 train rides > 3 hours per month) or in the evening on the sofa. As a single I've been reading in bed as well. But not anymore, since I'm married. In addition to books I'm reading news articles, online magazines and other web based stuff as well. This I'm doing whenever I've got some minutes at hand: In a taxi, in a doctor's waiting room, when waiting for someone, sometimes even when standing in line somewhere. Since 2000, when starting reading on Pocket PCs, eBooks have replaced 90% of my paper books. I've got some reader with me almost all the time. |

I read on the metro to work. On the metro home and on the train home (if I do not fall asleep). A total of little more than an hour. Why not on the train to work? I have two friends, and I enjoy the conversations. The rest of my day is run beppe run. In the evenings, when it should be the right time to read, I cultivate other interests. Like now.

I read:
I'd like to say I read on the weekends, but it is just not true. On the weekends, I'm really in slack-off mode: playing video games while doing laundry or going for drives with my wife. |
