The best case i got for my reader is a Tupperware plastic case. Only that prevents my reader from breaking when i carry it in my always full backpack.
The leather cover is good for holding the reader in your hand, but does not protect the screen when you have a pile of other things on top of it or when you accidentally hit something with your purse/backpack/pocket. |

Besides, it takes some care just to notice Sony's benefits. I know that even Sony's lack of connectivity is a blessing for many, including yours truly, but most reviewers (leave alone consumers) see it as a disadvantage. Still, I see the vicious cycle here. If they had their cases ready when the readers are ready, they'd definitely sell more. I do think M-Edge have a bit of reason to be in bed with Sony, actually: they're making premium cases and Sony's making premium devices ![]() |

M-Edge just has an issue against Sony it seems. Why else would they not have covers for the Sony Readers? They did have Kindle covers out right away. So really, M-Edge doesn't really care about you if you have a new Sony Reader. And by the time they get covers, the existing readers will already be using Sony covers. M-Edge is making a rather stupid business decision.

It's snug enough that you *can* give it a light shake upside down, but I'm not going to advocate anyone do so for obvious reasons. I've tried it...over a bed and it's not a problem.

That's a great idea! I'll keep my eye out for a smallish Tupperware case next time I'm at the store. I'm always paranoid about my reader getting smushed in my bag.

I bought a Kroo Melrose case for my 600; by carefully removing the top elastic and leather straps with a seam ripper and gluing them about 1/2 inch lower inside the case, it now works quite well for my 650. I used a glue called Weldbond, which you should be able to find at most craft stores; clamp it and let it dry overnight, and it holds just fine. Just make sure you position the Reader in the case and mark where the straps need to sit before gluing.
I also replaced the magnetic clasp on my case with a large Velcro dot - I have a thing about magnets near my electronic equipment ever since my Sansa Fuze died in a magnetic-clasp case last year. |

It took some time until i found one that was not too lunchtime-sandwich-box style, but i finally got one rather stylish. I remember the ONLY time i put my first device in my backpack without a case was during a intercontinental flight for a few minutes during some transfer between airports and that was enough to get the screen broken. I was so annoyed with my inability to realize that this is not a paperbook, but something much more fragile... I never carried it (the replacement unit) outside the box ever since. |

I have the Book Armor case for the PRS-505 and it is great! Tight fit, lightweight, and very solid construction. It is worth every cent!
They have a version for the 650.. http://www.amazon.com/BookArmor-Trav.../dp/B002QKGMO0 |

I wonder why Sony does freely license the integrated attachment hardware to places like medge etc...??

The BookArmor fits my 650 just fine. It's made to have a little room around the unit, so a few millimeters either way doesn't matter.

Just ordered the Sony black leather standard case for 650 at a local bookstore. It should took 1-2 weeks.
