could you please announce the launch of pre-ordering and links to the sites so we can rush and be the first Cannot wait anymore..

Thanks!
Hello Chudo, welcome/welkom/bienvenue from a fellow Belgian ! The price of the PB 902 was mentioned in another thread on this forum (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...uropean+prices). For preordering check out www.pocketgoods.de, they ship to Belgium (it's were I'll be ordering ). Shipping starts 01/11 so you'll have to wait a little while longer.

Do you think it is? If so, i will pre-order the 902 right away. But somehow i doubt it. I had a PB360 (also with this viziplex-screen), killed it, got a kindle 3 and now the question is if i want a 902 or a kindle dx, and the only thing thats keeping me is the amazing pearl screen of the kindle3, which I assume is the same in the DX version.

I would give a lot for a simple foto of both devices directly next to each other, showing the same text....

I am interested in the 603. Where can it be pre-ordered too with special price and where please ? Thought, like Luigino, watching a demo demonstrating its pdf reflow capabilities is a must.

EDIT : sorry, links have been already posted.

Hello guys, I'm also interested in this reader.
Does anyone know if the 902/903 can open ebooks protected with the Adobe DRM?

'Cause one of the major publishers here in Italy has finally opened a store of ebooks in our language (yay!) and they say the books could be opened by any device supporting the Adobe DRM.

Indeed, that's the only DRM scheme that these readers can open.

PocketBook doesn't believe in DRM per se, but Adobe DRM is supported because the editors insisted on having a "protection" on their books.

Hi,
The specs are not precise enough, though it is one of the most complete on the scene. Could you please clarify the notes feature. It seems one can copy text of the book as a note, but it is not said that you can take personal notes with the keyboard (bluetooth one for 602/902 - virtual one in addition for 603/903), even if it should be an obvious capability. Can typed notes be linked to sentences, paragraphs or pages of the book ? Can you make notes on every format supported, especially pdf ? Can you make also notes that do not link to books, just like with notepad ?

There are very few e-ink readers that do not run on Linux.
PocketBook 902 does run on Linux. Its predecessor PocketBook 301 and 360 not only runs on linux, it allows users access to the system, installation of third-party applications without hacking. One of the third-party applications is Linux terminal emulator, that enabled us to access many interesting configuration files.
Installation of the emulator is super easy. Just copy one binary on the reader to the /system/games directory and it appears in the games menu. You can also replace internally used applications by placing your version to the /system/bin directory. Form the inside of the PocketBook system this directory is on the first place in PATH so your installed binary is used instead of default.
With configuration files it is the same. You place your version of config file into /system/config directory you see on your PC when you connect the device and your config file overrides the built-in one.
PocketBook 360 and 301 uses heavily modified Embedded Debian distro with busybox
http://www.emdebian.org/

I do not know how many of the above mentioned features are present in the newest firmware, but I VERY much hope that PocketBook will continue in their tradition of providing us with system that is much more open than any other system.

This is what sets them apart.

The software on the new devices is based very heavily on our base system and ameliorations will be used on the "older" models as good as possible.
