Today I got a reaction to a job application I sent in yesterday. It's for a job at a store that sells light fixtures, so very close to our old store. I'm going for an interview on Wednesday morning!
I've got an another couple of applications sent this week, but I'm hoping this is the one. Unlike any other job opening I've seen so far this store offers a set schedule instead of a flexible one. They're not open in the even (I'm more of a morning/daytime person). They do want you to work one day on the weekend, but I'm perfectly okay with working on Saturday (on Sunday we go visit our parents). I'm hoping it'll be a good talk and I get offered a job. |

Yeah, good luck on getting the job! It does sound like a very good fit.
re wrapping the tell-tale shaped package: put it in a bigger box, with lots of filler paper! |

Thanks everyone!
Currently I'm working on the wedding album for my parents. They always planned to make one themselves, but never did. I recently digitized the photos for them and my sister and I decided to gift them a wedding album for Christmas. Earlier this week we selected which photos we wanted in the album and I just put it together. Later today my sister will have to take a look if she also likes it. They had the option for a cover art that really fits with the invite, place cards and menu (which will be adding in ourselves). I'm hoping it can be combined with a linen cover. I want to order it this week, then it should be here well before Christmas. |

Sounds lovely! I've seen vacation albums which were quite nice for Gramma to remember the trip.

I've taken all the pictures and I'm going to digitize them. The only problem is there are so many and I need to sort them first. Over time they all mixed together. I've bought a good photo storage thing with smaller boxes to sort and store the photos once I'm done (might need to order a second one), so they don't end up on a pile in a drawer again. |

I got to the bottom of the laundry basket. I had assumed there was one and now I've confirmed it.

We've been making our garden more bird friendly this year. This was helped by the very wild (ornamental) apple tree in our neighbours garden, which hangs over into our garden. It provided shelter for the smaller birds from the jays and crows.
Initially we put up feeders in places where only the little birds can reach them and one for the bigger birds. My sister went a bit wild with order more food and feeders during the Black Friday sales so now we have a lot more options, mostly for the smaller birds. However, the local rose-ringed parakeet population now has discovered our garden. Unlike other birds they won't be chased away by the crows and jays; they take as long as they want. And when other birds are eating the parakeets won't chase them away but they'll sit annoyingly close to the birds that is eating. Last Friday the apple tree got pruned, which was much needed. But it got cut back drastically and the little birds did not agree with that and they let it know whenever we were in the garden that weekend. They are now starting to come back again. |

I’m rearranging my home office so it can work as a real tinkering space. I ordered 20 cheap broken Kindle 3’s on eBay, and I’m planning to fix them by swapping screens, batteries, and whatever else needs work. I want to start repairing my own electronics, so this seems like a good way to learn the basics.

We just got my parents' wedding album!
They never made one themselves and regularly talked about wanting to do so. I recently digitized those photos, my sister and I selected 72 and I put them together in an album and ordered it. We ordered a linen cover with an image which really fits with the theme they had for the invites, menu and name cards. We left a blank page and will glue in an envelope so we can include those, too. Is the quality of the pictures great. No; they were taken in 1979, have yellowed a little bit (or maybe they were originally warm tinted) and then I digitized them. Some have been blown up a bit, though we intentionally ordered a smaller photo book. Hopefully we made the right choices of which photos to include of the guests, mostly those we know. I love seeing pictures of my grand parents and even my grandmother's stepmother (who raised her) and her father. Those two broke up when my grandmother was young and didn't get on well, so had to be kept apart. My great grandmother was invited to the ceremony and dinner and my great grandfather came to the party. When I digitized the pictures we went through them and it was so much fun hearing all the stories. Hopefully our parents like the gift. |

Wind dropped off - so just took a walk amidst snow flurries - the flurry with teeny tiny flakes dispersed here and there - under a low grey sky - magical
*of course the 4 layers of clothing helped* *and the lined boots* *and the gaiter* |
