Odd - I've just checked, and provided that you don't want to come back from London between 15:30 and 18:30, the standard return fare is £66.40. Journey time between 2:08 and 2:34.

Public transportation in our area is mostly quite inexpensive (free or $1 per ride), but doesn't go anywhere near my house.

The exception is the Amtrak train. It doesn't go near my house either, but there is a station 7 miles away on a line with service from Portland, ME to Boston, MA. However, they want $18 each way for a trip from the local station to Boston (about 60 mi, or 1 hr 20 min). Sorry-- in the Prius, I can get there using just over 1 gallon of gas. I'd rather take the train, but I can't afford it.

But, anyone who says that all of your allergies are present from early in youth, knows pretty much nothing about the immune system. Maybe they forgot what they should have learned in medical school ... maybe they were asleep that day .... they just don't know what they are talking about.

Oh, and "ps" .... I've had IBS all my life. Awful not knowing exactly what it is from, but when I get a bout, the pain is insane! Also, I had undiagnosed migraines for years. That was not a lot of fun, especially when people say you are faking, and not "really" sick, and you feel like you just want to freaking die. So, before you call anyone a hypochondriac (and this is not directed at you, koland), make SURE it's true. Granted some people just play sick for the attention, but there are a LOT of people out there who actually have problems that are real and get ignored or overlooked. Hell, they didn't know my wrist was broken for three months ... that didn't mean that the pain was imaginary ... just meant they hadn't spotted the problem.
Ricky, I'm going to assume that this was a "shot over my bow" and say that my In-Laws live with us and therefore I know exactly what medical conditions my Mother-In-Law has and which ones are manufactured for attention. I am not alone in this, my husband believes it as well. As it turns out, she has been checked for celiac disease and the test was negative as are the majority of the tests they run on her on a fairly frequent basis. The situation causes a great deal of stress in my family which we deal with to the best of our ability. I am not the type of person who would make a claim like this lightly or without cause.

I believe the term is "public relations" (not to be confused with politician).

I'm going to get serious for a second. I have always been a supporter of Israel and, as an amateur military historian, have spent hour upon hour pouring over the books on her wars for existence with admiration. I even contributed to Israel's defense in my own small way during my time in the US Army.

But, enough is enough and this is too much.

http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp...stW9JdpHz3hxSw

Over the last decade I've watched the Israel of Golda Meir slide deeper into a right wing state with sorrow and concern. As Israel has struggled it has allowed itself to become it's own hobgoblin. It is becoming it's own little version of Nazi Germany. I've written my Congressman and Senators to encourage them to speak out against these actions and to call Israel to account for it's actions before the World Court. I've further requested that they re-evaluate our foreign spending in Israel and cut all funds alloted to Israel in the 2010 budget and prohibit the sales of arms to the state of Israel.

It is time to take a stand in this just as we have taken a stand on torture and for much the same reasons.

I am not interested in debating or discussing this, I just needed to get it off my chest.

I just downloaded the latest version of the World Factbook from the CIA website, and I have to say that the current web designers are a bunch of frigging idiots. The content I've been working on downloads as a 35MB Zip file, which then expands into 884MB. Most of that volume is taken up by one folder, which is 664MB in size. I went through and removed most of the blank lines from each of the files in that folder. The folder is now under 150MB in size, and I'm not even done cleaning it up yet.

I'm beginning to understand why we haven't found bin Laden.

kazbates, I don't think you need to take Ricky's remarks personally. Your earlier post hit some nerves amongst people who've had unfortunate experiences with celiac disease and IBS appearing late in life, and as I'm sure you know, these are not fun conditions to live with. But neither is a difficult in-law, and I think we all agree with that, too. :sigh:
