I just packed my bag for going to my sister this afternoon. Tonight we're going to watch the latest Sarah Millican show. Tomorrow we're going out for the day to a nearby town. Have lunch, do some (window) shopping, go to see Oppenheimer and after that we're going to a restaurant to have raclette. I've never had proper raclette; my grandparents occasionally made it, but just warmed up slices of Swiss cheese. I've never had the proper scraped of raclette. I need weekend away after having been cooped up mostly on my own all week packing things in the store.

No, I volunteer to administer a state-wide licensure exam in my state. The room is big enough to hold 800 applicants, and I walk the room for all of the 7+ hours the exam takes. Between the two days of the exam, I logged 31 miles.

Right now? Cleaning up after a family get together. We managed to link it to a celebration of my wife's birthday.

My sister and I have started looking for our new house, on Thursday we're viewing our first one (I think it'll be too much of a fixer upper, but it's good to see things in person).
So I've been looking at Funda (Dutch Zillow), even in towns that aren't a contender, just to get an idea what's available. Today I found this house. It looks fairly nice, a bit too much grey for my liking, but that can be changed. It's got a nice garden. It get weird when you get to the pictures of what they put in the shed, Spoiler:
. With a lot of redecorating it would make a great craft/Lego room.

The one we're viewing on Thursday has a lot of potential, but needs quite a bit of work (for one it need to be un-beige-ed). The price is good, but I, and I think my sister also, want something that needs little work. I don't mind painting and maybe replacing carpets. I also don't mind it if the bathroom and/or kitchen isn't completely to our taste as long as it's works we can always change it in the future. Hopefully we can determine where which town we want to live, then I can start looking for a job. |

Myself...somewhere in time, my trolley left the tracks, and while I live pretty happily with Mr. H, I don't know if I could ever live with a family member or the like again. I really like my PRIVACY and my control over my own home. (And the TV remote, the kitchen...lol, you name it.) It must be nice to be able to do so! I'd be bonkers, lol. Hitch |

I expect living with my sister will be better than living with my parents, less stressful. Also, living in a modern house (build in the 1900s or later) is better than living in our current house (the section my bedroom is in was build in the 1300s). We also have similar taste in decorations, so that makes things easy. I'm also looking really forward to having a garden. I'm not good with plants, but we've never had a usable outdoor space and my sister's currently has a tiny balcony that fits two chairs and a tiny table. After looking at the house we're going to town center to have a look around and have lunch. |

My sister has a lot of clothes so she needs space for her wardrobes. So I suggested that if we find a place with a big craft space we could make some space for her to set up her desk for if she wants to work from home and then use the smallest bedroom as a walk in closet for the both of us. It does mean that when she's working and I want to craft I either wait until she's done or, if the supplies are portable, grab some stuff and craft somewhere else. Her mortgage advisor told her it's best if she first sold her apartment before buying our new place. That way you know exactly what you have to spend. And then have a longer time for the final transfer, so we have time to find a new place. We also took a look at the town center, which we both loved, and it's only a 20 minute drive to her work. So this town is definitely staying on our list. |

Right now, I'm enjoying the lovely garden, soaking up the sun and appreciating all the beautiful flowers and plants around me. It's such a peaceful and refreshing spot to be in.
