Every single discount code I've tried lately has said "unable to apply promo code". Some I've probably already used, but some I'm sure should be working. It's annoying.

I lie. It turns out the discount codes work on some but not others.

I've been trying to use it on some books which state I can input a code, but when I do, no matter what, it won't apply it. But with a different book, I can.

Weird.

If it's the new checkout you'll get the place to input a code even for ineligible books.

Yep. The problem is that it's savings in the LONG run. In the short run it's a real nut kicker to the wallet. As for how many books you bought... YAY!! I'm not the only one who bought over 70 books (plus the 24 I bought with the 50% off discounts before that).

No, I went looking for a book by an author, saw another of their books I was interested in, and decided to see if could use a code on it. So when I went to buy it and the code box was there, I assumed it meant I could.

That's what I meant earlier... I'm betting the contest codes expired since the contest ended a week ago, so that's why they no longer work, but if the bug is still in the new checkout, then any unexpired code becomes multi use.

I confirm that BookRiot50 works as multi-use code for any eligible books. I just bought 3 of the Top Five Classics books from US kobo - just as a test - and they all went through and I was able to use the Indigo Gift card on US kobo.

Just an update with my credit card woes. I contacted my bank and according to them they have an automated system in place that flags more than 5 transactions from the same store as possible fraudulent transactions, which causes any further attempts to give the ""Oops! Something went wrong. Please review your payment information and try again." message.

For some strange reason it seems Kobo in this case also rounded the amounts and then did separate transactions for the cents. As an example: Say I purchased items for 2.40 & 3.60. Transactions went through as 2.00 & 3.00 and then later ANOTHER transaction for 1.00. These 1.00 transactions raised further flags and cut into the number of allowed purchases.

Kobo REALLY needs to bring back the eGift cards as soon as possible.
