ahem. i regret to inform you that i have just spoken with adrian, and he tells me that he never received form A587-T-eleventy/parsnip, which, need i remind you, must be submitted in quadruplicate accompanied by the requisite seals of the prefect and 12 stamps, notarised, at least 3 months previous to any prolonged absences.

you have until 2 hours ago to turn it in, otherwise he'll be off to, ahem, retrieve you.

Umm...Adrian just called me "last call" from the airport...apparently he received, sent by VIA Courier Services (that's not "via"; that's Very Important Ape), from someplace called "The Icebox", a First Class return ticket to a little place called Cancun.

Sorry, my Queen. Apparently Adrian's now on "annual leave". Pshrynk and Adrian "conferencing" in Cancun...the place may never be the same (one day to the next).

Atlantic hurricane names are well past the 'A's' and currently at 'W' for 2009.

If Adrian can hold back 'tll January or change his name to Xadrian, LOOK OUT CANCUN!!!

Apparently, Adrian's plane was redirected due to hurricane Zelda (which, strangely did not appear on any radar, but only on various computer screens). This resulted in the plane landing on US soil, and due to the length of the delay required all passengers to pass through Homeland Security. The Homeland Security reponse was somewhat aggragvated by Adrian listing his professions as "Experimental Hyperdimensional Cocktail Scientist", "Mayhem", "Temporal Dysfunction Engineer" (The TV show FlashForward is very popular) and "squirrel wrangler". For some reason, they tried to breathalyse him -- which resulted in three machines fusing into solid lumps of useless metal and plastic. The following two blood tests they tried caused both analysis machines to explode (causing minor injuries to the technicians ["Well, I'm in a good mood," was Adrian's response.]). And the consequences of the urine tests are still classified. Their attempts to get him to walk through a new all-body scanner resulted in the scanner screaming and attempting to run though a solid concrete wall. The camera that attempted to take his picture now just gives multicoloured, shifting images that prompted one older member of staff "hey, that looks just the sixties." Scanning his fingerprints somehow triggered the computer connected to the scans (or any that were feed the data from the resulting scans) to install a new operating system that displays some nervous breakdown inducing images and the message "Welcome to AOS (G'day mate). Tinny or Barbie?" At which point, the security staff (as a matter of national defense) stuffed Adrian on an SR-72C "Blacklight" from a nearby military base as it was the only craft that Adrian was willing to get on ("Oooohh. Cute Toy." were his exact words) and pointed him back to Australia....

Well, what can I say? He's not here, and those blithering eejits at Homeland Security just gave him an SR-72C "Blacklight" to play with, which he has no doubt already reprogrammed, souped-up, colour-shift repainted, put 22-inch "spinners" on the undercarriage, and installed a sound-system that plays techto-music at eleventy-thousand decibels (no, "techto-music" is not a mistake - it's an off-shoot sub-genre of the popular type, and whose volume, bass and geological harmonic resonance can cause sympathetic tectonic shifts).

I would suggest Adrian is getting to Cancun come hell or high water, and I suspect he might be bringing the former with him. If he's not already there, they'll hear him coming...better start pouring the drinks.

Hey, is it my fault if, for some of the people employed by Homeland Security, geography is "United States of America" and "Here be Dragons!", and consequently their concept of the shortest direction to Australia might have been somewhat erroneous. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it is academic as I'm sure Adrian has encountered the concept "steer". As in "that'll steer him into trouble".

Anyhow, I'd be more worried about Adrian "Pimp my super-secret, over-equipped spy plane" d'Oz prowling the planet's airspace in an undetectable jet (capable of speeds that even RamJet designers only dream about) equipped with a fusion engine that operates for two years on a single tank, is capable of self-refuelling by flying at top speed through clouds for a couple of hours and has enough "defensive" capablity to scare off even the most aggressive lawyers. And that was before he pimped it up. Before you think it couldn't get anyworse, they didn't manage to loose his luggage so he's prowling, fully fueled on ZCDs and whatever other experimental cocktails he's working on. And that's not even thinking about his "toy box". (I did warn you not to think about Adrian's toy box. I suggest you take several ZCDs and call your pshrynk yesterday morning.)

I just hope pshrynk has a good sense of humour. I hate to think what Adrian's Operating System (AOS) is going to do now its gotten itself let loose in the Homeland Security network. No doubt, AOS is highly contagious, and I can't imagine normal virus scanners stand any more chance against AOS than common sense does in a financial institution's board meeting. Personally, I'm just glad I don't have any trips to the US.

I wonder if the world geological survey's can follow him though his sound system and their earthquake tracking systems.

I'd imagine that if he flies the "Blacklight" just right, he'll be able to bring the latter as well. Either that, or there is now a hurricane Adrian heading their way.
