That's annoying to hear. I understand though that it might be difficult to implement though maybe it can become a feature down the line, if kobo is willing to program in that functionality.

I don't own any Bluetooth headphones/speakers anyways, so it's a bit of a moot point

I have only side loaded epubs converted to kepubs when transferred to the devices. On those kepubs, the Kobo stylus as well as the Microsoft Surface stylus work as an improved (read narrower, more precise) finger, quite useful near the top or the bottom of the page, or when moving handles to adjust a selection, or fine-tuning the zoom of PDFs.

See the bolded portion of the message you replied to. In my limited testing, there is no current way to add an annotation to an audio book.

Just curious, but when you are listening to an audiobook:

Does the bluetooth's 'next track' do anything
Do the page turn buttons do anything

I didn't even think of trying the page turn buttons. Trying now, they skip 30 seconds backwards or forwards. Which matches the two buttons in the interface.

I don't have an appropriate Bluetooth device to test what happens from there. I might try the keyboard when I get a chance. It doesn't see the mouse I have, which could be the ereader or the mouse.

Thanks.

Has anyone tried bluetooth devices to see if they will turn a page while reading a book?

I owe a Kobo Sage.
Even though it is heavier than my Aura One, which I really like, it feels lighter. It is just better to hold with the new asymmetrical design.
The screen is just great an the backlight is nearly perfect.
As many other reported there is an issue with the battery life. You will have to load it more often if you compare it with other readers.
What really annoys me is, that you can't make notes on sideloaded kepubs. Normally I use calibre. But you are able to make notes in sideloaded epubs. Just don't know why.
My Surface Pen works fine on the device.

I tried it with a model you can see at the attachment.
Only in key mode the Sage reacts of pressing a button, the button with the triangle. However, pressing this button puts him into sleep mode and pressing the button again he awakes. It didn't work for turning a page for- or backwards. For Likebook Mars and also for Likebook P78 there is no problem with the same little bluetooth gamepad and everything works fine with it.
For me this is a KOBO-Problem.

I got the Kobo pen in the mail today and I really am not a fan of writing on it. A bit too glassy to be enjoyable to write on.

Should I paste a paper-like screen protector? Any other ideas?

I finally took the time to load about 1,400 books on my Sage. This time they were kepubs, unlike the books on my Libra H2O. Aaaand it was quite an adventure. The Sage got stuck several times while importing content (after I had ejected it from Calibre). I had to restart, connect it to Calibre again and add something else to trigger content processing again. So we went 3-4 rounds, but eventually all the books got processed. I guess it wasn't an unpalatable book then, but something else. No idea what, though.

Anyway, now I'm wiser and next time I'll try to load fewer books in one go.

I had no such issues with epubs on my Libra, but obviously kepubs are processed differently.

I think there have always been issues when loading large numbers of books in single batches. I don't do it enough to work it out. Except when loading a new device, it don't add more than 10 very often and adding 50 is very rare. But, you shouldn't have needed to send anything else to restart the importing. The device checks for changes in books compared to the database whenever it is ejected. This has caught me out a few times I had a text file on one of my devices that was larger than they will import. But, it triggered the import process each time. It took me longer than I care to admit to work out what was happening.
