Kobo Aura Edition 2 SD card image

Hi! My reader doesn't ever finish the "restoring" process and I have tried everything... would you be so kind to send me the image? It's a Kobo Aura Edition 2. Thank you in advance!

Hi everyone, I tried to reset my mom's Kobo Aura N236 but it stays stuck on the screen that shows you have to plug it in to charge and press the power button.

I guess I will have to pop off the back plate and fix the SD card. Could someone send me the image and some instructions? Can this be done on an iMac?

PM sent. I've included the links for the Aura Ed. 2 V1 and V2 hardware. If you have the serial number, a 2 in the 7th character position indicates V2 hardware.

Thanks so much! I just popped off the back and saw the 7th character is a 2, so I'll get going with the V2 image.

Hi there, me again.

I took out the SD card and checked the serial number (2), downloaded the correct V2 image, and checked the instructions in the other thread (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=209122). I'm on a MacBook Air, so I used balenaEtcher to flash the image to the SD card using my trusty dongle.

Unfortunately, my mom's Kobo Aura N236 is still stuck on the "connect to power/turn on" screen. The LED indicator light on the top right is on. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong here?

If anyone has the image file for Kobo Aura 2nd Edition v2, I'd truly appreciate it!

My Kobo Aura 2nd edition v1 is stuck on the what's new after an update a long time ago. Today I decided that I want it fixed or thrown out.

I tried hard resets, 4.1.7729 and 4.35.20400 from a site I found. But alas, no result.

The screen does not change ever, the led is working and the backlight is on, but I'm out of options. Could someone sent the correct image file? And does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

Boot behavior:
- press button until led is on
- led starts flashing
- backlight turns on

Screen stays frozen and does not change.

Hello, I have the same problem as aura2reader. Judging by the board and ID, it is v2. I freely found v1. With it, the screen lights up but the loading indicator blinks constantly.
With v2, the screen does not light up at all and the loading indicator is constantly on

Can you give firmware for v1.

I want to ask in v1 and v2 should the sd card image be 4gb or 8?

AFAIK, the v1 image is from a 4GB card while the v2 image is from an 8GB card. You can resize the FAT32 partition using the tool mentioned in the thread linked in the PM.

Can somebody please provide the image for the N236? mine is bricked after an regular update...
