I just learned about the fact that The Art Canada Institute (so as not to offend French-speaking Canadians, "Institut De L'Art Canadien") has a wonderful series of free online art books showcasing Canadian artists and visual culture. You can read them online or download them in PDF.

All of the books appear to be about artists working in the genre of "Modern Art." I know almost nothing about Modern Art (and being generally uncultured as I am know very little about art in general, for that matter). However, one reviewer was very keen on the book about Paul-Emile Borduas.
