Mine never responds to the commercials, but a few nights ago, Stephen Colbert was deliberately issuing fake Echo commands on The Late Show. It wasn't anything she could actually act on, but it was enough for her to lower the music I was playing and try to listen for instructions. I was both amused and annoyed.

Hmm. So the most effective commercial Amazon could have run for the Dot would just have been an anouncer shouting "Alexa, order a Dot!"

I don't believe there is practical tech for this yet. At least not as Echo would need it to work.

Your probably right, but mine definitely knows the difference between Susie and me. She obeys Susie and ignores me. :sigh:

Not sure what that was about. An update they reverted? Did they listen to user feedback? Was it a glitch? Or does Alexa now go through moods and change up how she responds from time to time?

Mine's kind of random, sometimes she says "OK" and other times just dings at me. I haven't been able to discern any pattern.
