Welcome to May! Flowers are in bloom, the sun is shining (at least here), and - best of all - free audiobooks! I'm usually not a fan of ChristianAudio's freebie of the month, but this month's title has my interest. This month you can get "The Advocate" by Randy Singer for free by going here. This one is a fiction title (sorry for those of you out there who seem to prefer the non-fiction). It's a historical fiction mixed into a legal/political thriller, which kind of reminds me of a cross between Robert Harris ("Imperium") and "Ben-Hur." If you're interested you've got the whole merry month of May to get it, but you might want to get it early or you might forget (like I do with my Kindle First offerings all the time).

It's almost that time! In just a week our banana-loving host will be swinging our way with two free audiobooks a week from Sync (look out in this thread or the dedicated Sync thread, now also Stickied in the deals forum). In the meantime, I'll highlight some other freebies to tide you over. I'll do two this week, since I'm just that excited.

The first one is free, but you'll have to work for it. Many of you are familiar with getting audiobooks via Overdrive. That's the system many libraries use; you can also purchase their books through some vendors (Books-a-Million comes to mind but there are others). Did you know you can also get Overdirve audiobooks free as promotional products?

I know of two companies who offer these. First is a company called Hip Digital. The main product I know of that offers promotions through them is Kellogg's. They have a program called Kellogg's Family Rewards. Basically you buy Kellogg's products with the logo, find the code inside the box, enter it in online, save your points, get free stuff. They also have free points on FB, Twitter, etc. Plus, if you already buy Kellogg's products, it's free to you. I've gotten enough points for 1-3 audiobooks a year this way.

The second company is Gives Media. I first learned of them when My Coke Rewards started offering them as redemption prizes. I used my miles on United to get a couple of audiobooks (I never fly enough to get a free ticket before my miles expire). Most recently, Rev. Bob turned me on to an app called Viggle. Basically you earn points for the TV you watch and the music you listen to. I've already gotten 1 free audiobook and am on my way to another.

That's one down. I'll post another (easier) freebie later today. Good hunting!

While doing my usual sniffing for audiobooks I found a number of freebies on Naxos' website. We already knew about their m4b offerings, but I came across a few more:

"Flanagan's Run" (abridged) by Tom McNab
"Northanger Abbey" (unabridged) by Jane Austen
"Tales of Mystery and Imagination" by Edgar Allen Poe
3 titles: "Bulldog Drummond" (unabridged), "Famous People in History – Volume I" (unabridged), and "Madame Bovary" (abridged)

Well, I hope that is enough freebies to keep you listening until Sync begins.

Thanks, skinmaan, I'd been meaning to mention the KFR program for the longest time, but kept forgetting. You can also get music and e-books through Hip Digital for the KFR points. (The program also offers other nondigital rewards.)

I've been collecting points for a while but haven't redeemed any yet. There are a lot of opportunities to get bonus points from Kellogg's, even if you never buy from their family of products (see, e.g., Hip2Save for bonus codes).

All of these codes are from Kellogg's social media platforms, like FB and Twitter. There are a lot of websites that agglomerate these codes; personally I use FatWallet. Similar to my trolling for audiobooks, there are some dedicated individuals who collect and post these. I didn't know Hip2Save, so thanks for the heads-up.

I get the ones on Facebook, but I'm not on Twitter. It always seem there are ones I didn't know about when I check Hip2Save or a similar site--just checking them when I was composing the earlier post, I picked up 150 more points!
