I've received my H2O today (yesm, on Sunday) via USPS from Canada. It took 4 days. I ordered it Thursday morning at about 1:15am and received it about 8:30am today.

My first impression is that the screen is very nice. No pin holes and no color variations. So that's all good. I'm just getting used to it and I'm about to transfer all of the books I have on my T1 over to it.

I love the screen size and it's not slow for page turns. I've already set it up some and patched it some. So I should be good to go for now. I just have to figure out (eventually) how I want the tiles.

The clarity of the screen at small font sizes is very nice. I am impressed. I'll have more to say once I get to reading/using it some.

Sounds like a very good start. Looking forward to more comments about it.

I'm impressed at the shipping speed. A little less then four days, two of them on the weekend, and cross-border? Cool.

Enjoy the H2O. I love the heck outta my HD. I know what I'll be replacing it with should something unfortunate ever happen.

I got mine yesterday. The bigger screen and more customisation options were what drew me to the Aura H2O. My previous e-reader was the Kindle Keyboard, which makes me appreciate the improvements very much.

I don't have a cover for it yet, but the texture on the back is nice and grippy enough to make me want to consider using it naked. It isn't a slick plastic, and it isn't the faux-rubber from the Kindle Keyboard either. It's a happy medium between the two.

Would someone please guide me on what travel adapter to use with the USB charging cable? Will the Kindle adapter from my KK be okay to use with the Aura H2O when I need to plug it into the wall outlet?

Any charger with a microUSB plug will work.

I charged mine with a Sony USB charger. Next time I need to charge, I'll try an iPhone USB charger.

Mine charged fine with a Samsung charger so it doesn't seem to be picky at all.

My mother has a Samsung cell phone and she uses her charger to charge her T1. That's a nice normal charger unlike Apple.

When I plug the H2O into an iPhone charger, it thinks it's connected to a computer. It should work, but it doesn't have a need to be charged now.

I got my Aura H2O on Nov. 21, charged it using an Amazon charger, and have read about an hour every day since then. My brightness is at 78% and I still have 27% left on my battery. Amazing! I've used many ereader devices over the last few years, but this one tops them all!

I got handed a bag of Christmas presents by my parents on Thursday. I knew there was a H2O in there, but I heroically resisted looking.

I have been limping along with my two year old broken Glo for a few months. It's been steadily getting less responsive, with the middle of my screen not accepting any input (searching for things isn't happening), and this morning I was pleading with the poor thing to actually turn a page when I pressed on the screen.

I'm afraid that I have not been able to wait for Christmas Day. I want to be able to enjoy reading again without worrying that this pageturn might be my last.

I have a new Kobo H2o sitting in a beautiful wine-coloured Fintie cover which has been processing my books for the past hour. Now I can actually USE my present at Christmas without spending an afternoon setting it up. It is lovely and fast and charges perfectly with my old nexus 4 charger. The larger screen is a real treat.
I'm so pleased and I can't wait to use it for a good reading session. Happy

I received my combo birthday/Christmas gift from my sister and brother-in-law today, a couple days early and it was the hoped for H20 and a black Fintie cover. I've got it all set up and loaded with about 450 books via calibre; took close to an hour to process them all. The screen is lovely, nice even light, no pin pricks; just beautiful. Now I'm not quite so sad my HD's charging port came disconnected, lol, (if anyone needs an HD for parts I'll be selling mine soon, the screen is perfect).

Like so many, my sis & brother-in-law had a heck of a time putting an order in at Kobo, it took several days, multiple phone calls and my sister finally ordering from her work computer to get the order in; the good thing is it only took five day to get to San Diego from Toronto once the order was placed.

Hi!

I bought my (second!) Aura H2O at the beginning of December for an Italian bookstore retailer. The package has arrived around the 10th of December. Previously, I have bought a similar device from Saturn retailer in Germany. However, after I had opened it, I noticed a slight cut-out of the front plastic panel from the body of the device in the upper right corner. They have recognized the problem (after sending some pictures) but, unfortunately, because I live in Romania, they (and also Kobo Canada) could not find a solution to solve my problem (even if I told them I will ship the device back on my own expense). A bad mark from me...But because I really liked the device, I had ordered it again at the Italian retailer.

Anyway...

Experience up to now. I am very glad with the way the device works, the reading is very pleasant due to the very glaring text. The customization is above average and certainly helps the user in many ways.

However, while recently reading quite a lot using the illumination of the device, I have noticed that the bottom part of the screen is darker, like it's not lighted as good as the rest of the screen. I am talking about a space amounting to 1 or 2 lines of text. Does anybody has this problem? Is it normal?

Thanks!

Yes, the small shadow at the bottom of the screen is normal. It only affects the footer.

Dear JsWolf

That's great news!
Do you, by any chance, know the reason of this? It doesn't really matter, now that I know it's normal. However...
Thank you!
