So, i've attached 2 pics. One of the new language option menu and one of the main menu after switching it to German.

You can have the main menu and all the other menus/messages in the language you choose BUT it wont change the dictionary or the other programs - they'll still be either English-Spanish or English-Russian depending on the jetBook Color you have. I'm thinking that this might also be a change in an update which would be cool if you can select the Japanese interface and have the English-Japanese dictionary, or if you have the regular English interface and can select any dictionary you want.

Paint would be pretty cool or just a drawing/writing section where you can freely take notes as if it's a sheet of paper

I really wanted the dictionary to be German/English.

I have my fingers crossed that they might include other choices apart from the English-Spanish or English-Russian ones.

Nothing against those particular languages but I was hoping to brush up on my German which I haven't touched since high school (many years ago).

Appreciate your help on this mate.

Just tried the TTS feature in one of the pre-loaded books and I am impressedddddd - totally sounds like someones reading it to you, here's how it looks. If anyone knows about the Spanish text to speech let me know how it sounds as i don't have any Spanish books but i have a friend in class who's interested:



You select 'Speak' from the Menu option and it highlights what it's reading so you can keep up if necessary, it also flips the pages for you and continues. It stops when you click the Back key. Awesome feature for those looking for TTS

How do you know what version you're going to get (eng-ru or eng-es)?

I want the spanish version. Suppose they send me the russian version, can I change it?

I think all JBC units comes preloaded with Spanish version but you can reprogram it to russian version if needed.

I was disappointed the March update, because auque you can choose the Spanish language, dictionaries, translation function, reading the book, etc.. are only in English-Russian.
I have published the Russian version, interface and functionality for other languages​​-English Russian only.
Thus the device is useless for the Spanish market.
I wrote to support Ectaco, but no answer. Another thing that goes wrong.

Tell your friend that you do not buy it.
The book reading function is enabled only for English-Russian.
In Spanish only is the interface.

usually takes 2 to 3 business days before Greg responds..Just give him time, he's a busy man (does other things than ectaco too)!

The wifi is on, even if no browser.

Somehow those links don't work for me (i'm copying the whole link, not just clicking on it), am i doing something wrong?

Does anyone have a link to the en-sp firmware? (i reprogrammed mine to en-ru some time ago and now the new update builds on the en-ru version)
