I've noticed it mostly with sideloaded content. Kepubs seem to be more accurate in this respect. Glad I'm not alone at least.

Not sure if this is a new feature, or if this is a defect, or if I just did something wrong, but I couldn't get a sideloaded ePub (through Calibre) to process on the Kobo. It was on the reader in Finder, but it didn't show up in the reader, and when I plugged it back in, it didn't show up in Calibre either. I did a factory reset and was able to load it then, but I don't want to have to do that every time I load a book.

I would love to see metrics on battery usage. A status page with things like:

Current charge level (as a number, not silly bars or icons)
Last charge date
Hours powered on since last charge
Hours in Sleep mode since last charge
Touches since last charge
Screen refreshes or some other metric to show the number of times the display has changed its contents.

Not sure if this was suggested, but I'd love to have easy access to the time.
Since it already keeps track of it, it shouldn't be a hard fix.

I guess a good place to put it would be next to the battery icon (or on the top right corner, opposite of the battery icon), and appear at the same time when the battery icon appears (when on the home screen, or when you tap in the middle during a reading session for the options.)

I sometimes get too immersed in the book, and would love to be able to quickly check the time without getting up or taking out my cellphone.

To piggyback on your idea, an alarm would be an ideal companion feature to a visible clock. Some kind of visual alert that pops up in your book to inform you that an hour or whatever has elapsed, or however long you've set it to. Similar to what they have in the game Civilization to keep people from getting lost in time while playing.

Yes, this has already been suggested. Repeatedly.

At the top of each page in thread view is a button labelled "Search this thread" - I wish people would use it. Once these firmware suggestion threads exceed 2-3 pages no one bothers reading the thread before posting.

TL;DR at it's finest.

Unless theres already a way to do this..

The ability to input a page number so I don't have to use the slider.
Any maybe some way to see my reading stats through the Kobo Desktop software or website.

Now that I have 1.9.11 All that's left that I REALLY want is:

1: Multiple bookmarks
2: custom Library/folder structure (I.E. the ability to manually create folders that are viewable from the KT menu somewhere, such as "Scifi", "Fantasy", "Non-Fiction" whatever).

Once I have those I don't need any more features.

I agree with this. I am loving the 1.9.11 upgrade a LOT, but I'd love to organize book collections.

Particularly books that are all in a "series" with sequels, but being able to sort by genre, etc would be very lovely.

So far as it stands, I am so delighted with how my Kobo Touch works. I can now search within the Bible!

Inputting a page number manually is something I was surprised to see absent from the KT. It was in my previous kobo wifi (I gave it as a gift) but the navigation to the numbers was clunkier - now that there is the touchscreen I thought for sure it would be there, but easier. I never can get accurate on the slidebar.

Although, the search within text upgrade to the new firmware, does solve that a little bit.

While I wasn't among those clamouring for a search function, I've come to really appreciate it. A couple of things I think would expand its usefulness:

1) An option to search within the current chapter (especially useful for anthologies)
2) Search before current page
3) Regex search! (ok, not serious. But I'm certain a few people would find it useful.)

Sorry if these have been mentioned above. But there are too many pages to read and obviously if they have been noted, they haven't been implemented yet. So without further ado, here are some features I feel would help improve my experience.

1) Time display on book. I love getting lost in a book, however it is not always practical. I would love the option (option as in turn on or off) a time display on top of the page when I read on my lunch hour or before an appointment!! I wouldn't have to fumble between checking my phone and reading constantly interrupting myself to see if I am on time.

2) Sort by finished books! Its great to see the stats on reading life, how much percentage you have done etc. But sometimes the ego in me likes see how much I have accomplished.

3) Viewable stats on books you have finished. Like how long it took you etc. I would like to see sometimes how long something took me to read in the past. I definitely don't want to leave my book on the last page before I finish to see that it has taken me 4 hours or whatnot.

4) One long-press to dictionary again!

I agree that going to the dictionary takes too many presses. Maybe use different buttons on the bottom bar - one for definition and one for translate rather than having to press a button to bring up the options.

To repeat what many others already wrote :
* Show time next to battery
* Change battery icon to a simple pourcentage
* Add a french dictionnary
* Add the number of page remaining in the chapter (in addition to the global pagination already there)
* Add annotation for sideloaded epubs
* Autocrop white border from image loaded from cbz or cbr
* Add an OPDS client (to be able to browse through Feedbooks.com free books or custom OPDS feed), not sure Kobo is gonna do this one

But beside all that I'm pretty happy with my Kobo.
