Kindle makes it so inviting to read two books at a time! I've started Pillars of the Earth by Follett and Three Cups of Tea by Mortensen.

I finished my 56th book of the year early this morning -- Stars Over Stars by K D Wentworth which I downloaded from the Baen free library a while ago. I read it back-to-back with Black on Black. Makes me wish Wentworth would write another book set in the universe of the hrinn.

I'm currently reading The Miracle at Speedy Motors by Alexander McCall Smith, which I checked out of the library -- hardback, not electronic. Also reading Emily Climbs by L M Montgomery on the Kindle. (Thanks for uploading the book, Justy!) Next, I need to quickly read two books by Mavis Cheek and Titan by Ben Bova since I've promised the paperback books to others.

Reading Star Dragon by Mike Brotherton, but I gotta say it's a slow start. First book I'm reading on my Kindle... yes a free book I downloaded from Feedbooks.

I can highly recommend Mercedes Lackey's Five Hundred Kingdoms series. I really enjoyed The Fairy Godmother and have One Good Knight ready to go. There is a 4th book to the series due out sometime June 2008.

Currently reading Oscar Wilde's play "The Importance of being Earnest". It is probably my 5th or 6th read, but I enjoy it every time. It is one of my favorite plays of all time. It is also quite a treat to see it performed

You know, though I've meant to, I've never read any Oscar Wilde. I keep going to, but his witty quotes sometimes come across so smug-faced to me that he gets put on the backburner again (I'm not saying he is "smug-faced" - it's just a visceral reaction).

...actually, come to think, I have read "The Ballad of Reading Gaol", but, while good, I suspect he's more accomplished as a playwright and novelist than a poet.

You have pushed him back up The List though. Thank-you.

Cheers,
Marc

Just finished Small Gods (Terry Pratchett). I'd gotten a bit over halfway through before, then stalled out. It turns out I liked the second half of the book much better than the first half.

I find I'm not in the mood lately to read Katherine Kurtz beating on her characters. Maybe I'll re-read David Brin's books.
