OK - I stumped you all last time [not counting snide dogs guessing wildly]:

Where did the term "skyscraper" come from to denote a multistory building? Why was the transference of this term to a building so apropos?

I don't know the answer but I live in Providence, RI, and this building--

was built in 1927 and is the tallest building in Rhode Island. The locals have called it the Superman building since the 1950s. However, it is the top of the building that I think is really cool. When they made the building airplanes were still fighting with blimps for supremacy of skies, and it was envisioned that blimps would dock to skyscrapers like this one, and the top of the building was designed for this purpose.

I know that the term 'sky scraper' was originally used in sailing, for the small sail at the very top of the main mast, but I have no idea about the second half of the quiz question!

You are indeed correct sir!
And the term was transferred b/c for coastal cities - the masts in the harbors were the tallest structures on the skylines .... that is, until multistory buildings were constructed!

OK... a music history question this time;
While the terms 'rock' and 'roll' have been use in music slang since the '20's, and the phrase "rocking and rolling" hit the music scene in the late 40's, the use of this phrase was not generally used to name this style of music. In terms of its wide cultural impact across society in the US and around the world, Bill Haley's "Rock Around the Clock", recorded in 1954 but not a commercial success until the following year, is generally recognized as an important musical milestone as the "1st Rock and Roll Song" (although it really wasn't.)

Question: Who was the DJ to make the term "Rock and Roll" a household word in 1951, to forever be associate with this musical style?"
