Well, if you own a BMW, it's practically impossible. They crawl on their tires to take up two spaces while you are in the store. They're really quite the little bastiches that way.

So, we go to do the laundry last weekend...
When we take the towels out of the washer, they are soaked. We put the next load in and watch. No motor action. We call Sears and ask to have a visit from a repair person that they advertise so much as being helpful and proficient. We get a computer. We answer a zillion questions and listen to a million pleas to get a Sears card while we are waiting. They say we will be there to look at the appliance and charge us $75 today between 9AM and 6PM. SUmkIII takes the day off. They don't call or show up. She starts calling Sears. We cannot get a live human at the local store just so we can know that their computer actually passed on the message that someone who buys a lot of Sears stuff is wanting to get some help, as they asdvertise. Being proficient and helpful, etc. I call a hot line and get another computer. Then I start punching zero numerous time. Then I start saying "human, please" over and over. I finally get human, who tells me that they will call the service rep at our local store and have them call us as to when they will be getting there today, as they promised. They call and say that they are too busy ignoring phone calls at the store to come around today and have arbitrarily changed our appointment for a week from today because they really don't give a crap about us not having a washing machine. We are going to WalMart to get the t-shirts I need for work and telling everyone we know never to shop in Sears ever again. |

Ahh, been driving in NY lately, huh ![]() This is the land of the "I'm going to read, talk on my phone, put on my makeup, drink my coffee And straighten my tie while I drive all over the road, cut you off, put my brakes on, then give you a hand gesture when you slam on the brakes to avoid me"! You've pretty much described my morning and evening commute (minus the idiot paper readers and fixer/makeupers). All I can say is.... It's a Good thing for these maroons that my dad didn't install that cannon in the back of my vehicle... |

Oh, at one place during my road trip we got to one of those "lane shift" places due to construction. The lanes have SOLID white lines. The guy behing me evidently didn't care that the construction speed limit was 50 and even though I was going all most 60 he was flashing his lights at me because he wanted to pass. SORRY, you do know what SOLID white lines mean, don't you? There are many times I WISH for that cannon. BOb |

Yesterday I crossed the road at a pedestrian crossing. The third car back started honking its horn to get the traffic moving again because the front car had stopped FOR A RED LIGHT.
Still doesn't beat the woman who pulled out in front of me onto a roundabout, swore at me then wound down her window and waved at me to go round her. She then swore again when I refused to pull out round her - which would have involved moving into the path of other traffic. I wonder why I don't drive ![]() |

About 5 years ago, I was crossing (by foot) the street at an intersection, at the green light, and a cab that was turning hit me and sent my flying away.
I managed to sit and put my back against the cab, but I couldn't move more than that, nor stop crying, so the driver actually stepped out of his car to ask me to move and let him take his clients to their destination. He said he'd be back afterward!!! Of course, I didn't move, mostly because I couldn't - I had a concussion and a knee injury, and I was in such a state of chock! Thank God there were some other nice pedestrians that took care of him and called an ambulance for me! Morals: Car drivers=bad; pedestrians=good! ![]() |

I was hit by a car once riding a bike across a busy street. I wasn't really hurt, it was more like a hard tap, and it was my fault anyway. Well, my brother's. He made me cross the street there (I didn't want to) and I was a grade schooler who was so scared of the cars. Luckily, we were only about 15 yards from a stoplight, so the car had been slowing down anyway. I was on my way to meet Ronald McDonald. I had won some dumb competition that meant I got to meet Ronald. I was already old enough to know it wasn't super cool. My mom thought she was putting my name into a birthday club (free food) thing. ![]() I'm glad there were sane people there who actually cared about what happened to you. I cannot believe that driver. well, I can, actually, that's the sad part. |

I was walking (in high heels ... rare for me) across a large driveway into a major hotel when the right heel of my shoe caught in a crack in the concrete and I fell.
Unfortunately, there was a cab that had already started a left turn to come up the drive, so he ran over me. He did try to stop as fast as he could, but that left me under the car (not pinned, just between the wheels). To his credit he did get out and try to help me (as did about eight other cabbies that were parked in front of the hotel). Mostly they argued about whether or not I should be moved or not. ![]() Edit: at least I think it was a cab. It was big and blue. |
