That's all I care about. You can get pretty good idea where it would be in the pbook.

Recovering from a day that didn't go as planned.

I had to evict a bird who'd taken up residence in my dryer vent hose. He wasn't particular happy about the situation. He perched in a nearby tree and protested loudly. At least there weren't any eggs or little cheepers in the nest. I'm a softie. I would have left the nest if that was the case. Instead, I replaced the hose and covered the vent with wire mesh to prevent this from happening again.

After a late lunch, I finally started on my weekend errands. My phone rang as I entered the first store on the list. It was my boss with an emergency. I'm not even on-call this weekend. None of my errands are done because I came straight home and turned on my computer. Worked on it all afternoon and I'll still need to monitor the situation tomorrow.

The only good thing about today is that I covered an old cork board with fabric and ribbon and hung it in front of my desk. It was pretty...until I covered it with work related papers.

I think it is time to retreat to my bedroom and read.

I hardly slept last night... I woke up at 1 and finally fell asleep at 3 again to wake up and get up at 6...

Needless to say, I'm half asleep with a concentration of -100 at work...

I still wonder how I got there without accidents.

I completely understand what you mean, and I think I said something like the following in a Kindle thread;

with the advent of the DX and the supposed directed purpose to academics, how are sites to be made when reading on an ereader?

Okay ... in Germany we are paying fees (to copyright holders) for PCs, scanner, printer, CD/DVD blanks and writers, etc
And in the future we will ALSO pay for harddrives, usb-sticks, memory cards, etc (means we pay multiple times...)

But dont get me wrong: Paying this will not make it legal to actually use this stuff (e.g. to make a backup for existing CDs). You are just paying w/o getting anything. In the normal world this is called protection money .. not much difference between some companies and the organized crime, is there?

it's the same here. "don't do it ! it's illegal. but we know you'll do it anyway, so we'll make you pay for it in advance, even the people who won't do it ever. but even though you're paying for it, you don't have the right, so if you get caught, you'll be in trouble !" and all this money that they're collecting because they "know" people are doing it... i really would like to know where it goes, and how much (if any) the artists ever see. it's all a racket.

(doggie meekly raises paw to pose innocent query)

Uh, you mean you pay a "copyright" fee when you buy a printer? Or a blank CD?

(doggie quickly puts paw down and prays that a deluge doesn't come his way)

Learn to drive!!!

What is it with people in this country that don't know to

DRIVE IN THE RIGHT LANE.... PASS IN THE LEFT LANE....

How fracking hard is it? After 45 hours of driving in the last two weeks I can tell you there are a LARGE amount of people that don't know that above rule-of-thumb.

Oh... and when some one pulls out to the left lane to pass you, don't FRACKING SPEED UP! WTF IS THAT?!!!

Finally, DON'T PASS ME, MOVE IN FRONT OF ME THEN SLOW DOWN! WTF IS THAT?!!!
