I went to a high tea lunch with my sister today. We discussed vacation plans. I plan to have a reading retreat week in September. She wanted to go to either England or Ireland and want me to join her. I agreed, but suggested that we go next spring and that I would prefer Dublin. She asked me if I didn't mind going again, I went in 2011, but I'd love to go. So now I'm looking forward to both September and next spring.

Oh I know exactly what a copperhead is. That was kinda the point of the story, that they apparently smell like cucumbers, but who the hell would want to test out that theory (it was a comedy programme, but they assured the listeners that it was a true fact).

How close did they imply you had to get, to smell the cucumber smell? (Presumably much MUCH closer than you'd like to get to a copperhead?)

I'm house sitting this week. Last year my friends' dog Luca died and they've gotten a new dog, Keira. Keira is very sweet, but once again I'm reminded that I'm a cat person. Keira needs and wants a lot of attention and is very clingy.

Even though the kittens are very social compared to all other cats we've had, they're still independant and do whatever they want. I go home almost every day this week and I still miss the kittens.

I'm counting down the number of walks I have to do before going home (7 left). My friends return Sunday early evening.

They weren’t explicit, but given you’d have to touch it to stimulate the smell, I’m guessing pretty close. And as you say, much closer than you’d want to be...

Wondering if I'm going to have to eventually find a new address. The owners of my apt. complex are going to pay off their loan and will be able to do away with rental assistance which will make things potentially hard for me and about 60 odd others who live in the complex. This is a stress that I didn't need on top of everything else.
