I didn't know that, but it sounds about right

(although our guys tend to go with 'Flower of Scotland' I think)

I found out a year or two ago that the patriotic song we had to sing every day in second grade was to the same tune as "God Save the Queen."

Does it sound as dirge-like sung as God Save the Queen/King?

(Which can sound incredibly uplifting and rousing as an instrumental - much to my annoyance when it comes on between radio 4 going off-air and the world service taking over, as Sailing By and the shipping forecast have lulled me into a state of drowsiness; but never seems to achieve anything like that when sung.)
