So yes the voyage is taller but narrower. The specs do say that the cover is included.

Pricing is still unknown. The Canada leak shows it being sold along side the Voyage. Pure speculation, but I think the $199 price is too high already. Even with a cover it would be tough to bump it up too much. My guess is $229 for Oasis and $189 as new price point for voyage.

My first gen DX has auto rotate with a lock. Locking it was one of the first things I did with it.

Oh dear, not what I was expecting at all! That thing is bloody hideous, and looks more like one of those crappy knock off Bookeen products or whatever that always seem to have substandard specs and crappy designs...

I had, however, starting to like Amazon's new onus as a company that innovates... However more often than not it is appearing that their innovations are quite stagnant... As ugly as it is, I cant wait to old one, but until then I think I'll be holding off on buying one, as I only recently traded in my Voyage for a H2O dur to the limited typesetting features plaguing Amazon... as a side note I should add that reading text is indeed much, much more of a treat with Kobo patches and customisation etc. The only thing that would probably make me switch over back to the Amazon ecosystem would be a 7'' screen, but that doesn't appear to be anywhere in site...

Amazon has a long tradition of blocky-looking hardware, with hard angles and edges... the Oasis seems to continue in that tradition...

I played with a NST at B&N. Although it looked a little like a baby's toy, it felt really nice and comfy to hold. What's pleasing to the touch isn't always pleasing to the eyes. Maybe the oasis will be the same.

I think some time ago I advocated using asymmetrical design to squeeze a larger screen into nearly the same housing. I envisioned an edge to edge (or close to edge to edge) screen with a bevel on one side for holding. They're doing that, except it's still the same 6" screen and you still have a pretty large bevel all around. Arrghh! I hate it when I get what I want and it's not what I want.

Yeah, seeing the comparison on the Canadian Amazon site clenches it. Altogether NOT the device I'm looking for. I really didn't think Amazon could disappoint me this much.

I think I saw that design earlier. Yours seemed much more elegant because the bezel was still thinner and the wide one not as wide. You're right, it's like getting what you want, but not at all. They went too far.

All of that being said, I'm hoping that there is more to the new device than we are seeing, because I would love real page turn buttons again!

Because the charging cover is included, I'm guessing it will sell for $249 or $259. It's much lighter than the Paperwhite or Voyage, has more LEDs and a "snazzy" chargeable cover. It may even go for $269 or $279 (to start).
