Not everyone chooses to use smile. So no, that would not be a good idea.

If you use Firefox, you can install an add-in that converts all www.amazon.com links to smile.amazon.com. Search for "Amazon Smile".

WARNING: It's not perfect. If you're trying to download something (like a song) and the download doesn't seem to want to work, try disabling the add-on temporarily. But it does redirect your general links to smile as needed.

I'm sure that it is very much sanitized from the books that adults would view.

I imagine you're right. I don't really want to contemplate a picture book based on the opening scenes of Saving Private Ryan.

I picked up the book the last time it was offered. It gives an simple overview of events with black and white photos of the people and events discussed. No closeups but there are dead men in some of the photos and discussions of death. It's definitely an illustrated history book covering a battle, not a picture book for tiny children.

I'd say it would be appropriate for a child old enough to be interested in military history but as always it depends on the child.

4.6-Star Rated Book about the Story of Sushi--99 Cents, a 92% Markdown!

That's 92% from the digital--not print--list price!

You can spring for the Whispersync deal for only $3.99 more, making it $13 less than the audio alone at Audible.

The Story of Sushi. By Trevor Corson. Rated 4.6 stars, from 96 reviews at Amazon at the present moment. Print list price $14.99; digital list price $11.99; Kindle price now $0.99. HarperCollins e-books, publisher. 388 pages. https://www.amazon.com/Story-Sushi-T.../dp/B001FA0TVE.

Book Description
Everything you never knew about sushi—its surprising origins, the colorful lives of its chefs, and the bizarre behavior of the creatures that compose it.

Trevor Corson takes us behind the scenes at America's first sushi-chef training academy, as eager novices strive to master the elusive art of cooking without cooking. He delves into the biology and natural history of the edible creatures of the sea, and tells the fascinating story of an Indo-Chinese meal reinvented in nineteenth-century Tokyo as a cheap fast food. He reveals the pioneers who brought sushi to the United States and explores how this unlikely meal is exploding into the American heartland just as the long-term future of sushi may be unraveling.

The Story of Sushi is at once a compelling tale of human determination and a delectable smorgasbord of surprising food science, intrepid reporting, and provocative cultural history.

I've read the sushi title from the library years ago, and it was pretty informative and engagingly written. Well worth it at this price, IMHO, if you like slightly breezy food history.

X-link to the DRM-free thread for some new bundles:

StoryBundle's new Giga Game Bundle contains non-fiction titles about the history of and strategy tips for mostly video games, but also the ancient Chinese board game Go and the roots of simulation strategy games, namely Dungeons & Dragons, this time around.

Humble Bundle is offering the Humble Magazine Bundle Star Trek presented by Titan Magazines containing back issues with feature articles and interviews with the assorted actors and creators from all versions of the franchise, including their special Leonard Nimoy commemorative issue.
