It's a (very long) omnibus edition of six novels: the three novels of the "First Law" trilogy, plus three standalone novels, "Red Country", "The Heroes" and "Best Served Cold" which are set in the same world. Many of the minor characters from the "First Law" trilogy reappear (sometimes in a major role) in the standalone novels. An excellent bargain.

His Robot Girlfriend: Charity
Quote:
Robotics engineer Dakota Hawk has problems. His life is falling apart. And even he doesn’t know why he bought a used, and seemingly non-functional, Daffodil Nonne. When your life turns to crap, which should you worry about more– your past or your future? How easy is it really to remake yourself and start over? And will having your own robot girlfriend help or make things even more difficult?
Smashwords Wesley Allison has another robot book out. It's .99 at Smashwords. It came out in January of this year apparently.

Laline Paull's The Bees, in which the life-cycle of a beehive is used as the basis for a dystopian SF story, is $1.99 at Amazon US and possibly elsewhere. I've read it, and thought it was pretty good.

Viola Carr's The Diabolical Miss Hyde is currently $1.99 from the publisher. Available at Amazon, Kobo, and likely most other places. I just finished the book, and quite enjoyed it.

Since this is a recent HarperCollins book, it may be an EPUB 3 in some stores. Kobo claims it is an EPUB 2, but I don't have my laptop on to verify. (Besides, I got my copy with points at Viggle.)

The Girls from Planet 5
Quote:
When the beautiful invaders took over, only Texas fought back! A "different" science fiction novel by award-winning author Richard Wilson. Originally published in 1955, this is a science fiction romp that pokes fun at the B-Movie notion of beautiful alien invaders.

Probably a lot of the old SF classics are politically incorrect today. Of course the old SF movies had that same trend.

Bargain @ $3.99 from Chronicle Books, possibly for today only (April 9th), as this is the Nook Daily Find, but price-matched in the Canada & US stores that I checked (couponable @ Kobo, may or may not also be discounted in other regions, etc.):

Inside HBO's Game of Thrones: Seasons 3 & 4 by C. A. Taylor with a foreword by the GOT showrunners.

This is an official authorized tie-in book and contains lots of behind-the-scenes info on the making-of aspects such as costuming and music and stunts and special effects and other design elements, some appendix-y type backgrounders on the show version of the story (family trees and House mini-histories such), plus plenty of interviews with the actors about their characters and the writers about their adaptation decisions from GRRM's original ASOIAF plotlines, etc.

I have both of these volumes thus far in hardcover and they're quite well put-together, so getting an easily portable e-version of the 2nd one which seems to have adapted it well enough (allowing for the picture-filled coffee table nature of it) at a discount price (this was somewhere in the $20-$30 range a couple of weeks ago, where the original S1+S2 remains) is a nice bonus.

NB: Google Play in Canada seems to list two versions at this at roughly similar prices. This listing at $3.03 CAD shows the one that's from "Chronicle Books LLC" as it should be in North America and has the correct page count and official publication date, whereas the other one appears to have some different publisher and incorrect page numbering.

Each episode of HBO's Game of Thrones draws millions of obsessed viewers who revel in the shocking plot twists, award-winning performances, and gorgeously rendered fantasy world.

This official companion book reveals what it takes to translate George R. R. Martin's bestselling series into a wildly popular television series. With unprecedented scope and depth, it showcases hundreds of unpublished set photos, visual effects art, and production and costume designs, plus insights from key actors and crew members that capture the best scripted and unscripted moments from Seasons 3 and 4.

Required reading for the die-hard fan, and the perfect way to catch up on the series before the much-anticipated Season 5 debuts, this special volume offers an exclusive window into cable's highest-rated show.

Thanks, I'm willing to do $4 a title for Abercrombie even though I've read two of them (I haven't read Best Served Cold though). Finally burned my $10 in Kindle credit.
