I also had the 1.5.1 firmware release, mine was release 20110610 though and it was flipping the pages at random, it also kept changing font sizes.
I downloaded the 1.5.1 update from the site (20110630) and updated the device, now I can't get the IR-button to work at all when being outside. I haven't done exhausting testing yet and will come next week with my findings. |

Ah. I see, an educated man.
Why not share your findings? ![]() I'm cognizant of examples flying around that annotations are possible with djvu files, but none real applications have shown up (none at PlanetDjvu or other forums that deal with the djvu format quite extensively). I have to admit I have not checked if anything has changed during 2011, so I refer to what was known until the end of 2010. Quote:
Even though the djvu format is officially supported by Lizardtech and Caminova, most of the applications are open sourced. So I does not matter which OS you're talking about. As long as something sees implementation in the linux world, it finds its way pretty fast in the windows world as well. The best examples are xournal, evince, and KDE (typical linux applications), which have been ported into windows. Quote:
Any comparision to Pdf Annotator (windows) or xournal (linux)? Would be very interested and relieved to know it is possible as I almost ditched the format for its lack of annotation support. Last edited by eLiNK; 07-11-2011 at 06:00 AM. |

I'm, of course, late with this, but still - we got Onyx M90 available in our online store!

Hello everyone,
I've got a m90 reader approximately a week ago, and I must say that I'm quite happy with it, even though there are still some bugs to sort out. I mean, I mainly got the device because of its 9.7" screen, so everything in addition to rendering all my pdfs nicely and speedily is a bonus. That said, I still have some issues with the IR sensor in direct sunlight (sporadic page flips), even with the June 30 1.5.1 update, so yeah it's still an issue, though it works much nicer than before the update. Also, I haven't heard this one mentioned, so I'll throw it out there - I've noticed a dead zone with the Wacom touch screen (area I can't write in). The area is roughly on the opposite area of the speaker and just slightly smaller than a dime in shape and size. Is this something that anyone else has noticed? I have a feeling it's something to do with the magnetic field being disrupted by the speaker behind it, but it's just speculation :P. Anyway, anyone else notice this? Thanks, |

M90 Thinking
Hi,
I've just received the M90, and I've been loading books. With one of them, the size of the PDF file is 200MB, and the reading was OK, until I decided to increase the font size. There it started to think, and it have been thinking for a long time. I've switched it off, and switch on, but after starting it keep thinking. I've tried the reset button, but it does nothing. Does anyone know how to stop it thinking? Do I need to press reset for a certain time? Thanks in advance. |

At the end, aften half an hour my M90 stop thinking.
Now I have a question in the change of the data and time. How can I accept the changes? There is not an OK button. If I press to close the window the changes are not saved ![]() |

Now, the book is agin not working. I've been reading a PDF book, then I decided to rotate the page to see it better, and the menu keep in the screen and the buttons stop working. None of them answer (reset, switch off, home, back, IR, ...). How could a physical reset be done? Last time, it was thinking for an action, it took half a hour to allow me use it, but at least swicth off button worked (even it did nothing to stop the book keep thinking). I discourage people to buy it in some months as it seems it does not work properly at all now. Any help is welcome!!! If the problems keep appearing I'll return it to the shop!!! |

As for resetting it, it's a crap shoot. Sometimes holding in the reset on the back (with a paperclip, etc.) works. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes clicking the on-off button works. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes holding the on-off button for a longer period of time works. Plugging it into your PC might wake it up. Plugging it into the wall outlet may work as well. ismaelndes , the reset button is on the back by the label. probably what you have run into is a different problem. if the reset does not work you'll need to get it on the charger and leave it to charge for a few hours. 3 at least. this happened to me the first day i had it when i went against my own advice and used it without charging it first.
the ir button is a mouse. run your finger over it to navigate and click it to select things. |
