I'm busy with book #9. Didn't think I'd go through books so fast when doing a page goal.

I'm not doing too well on this front. Read 6 so far, but bought 8!

I've been "playing" more than reading - setting up/tweaking my bookshelves on GoodReads, downloading every free book I can get my hands on, tweaking the metadata in Calibre, creating collections, then deleting collections....
Plus, reading many, many of the posts both here and at GoodReads.

I'm now almost a month behind on the whole 100 book challenge. *sigh*

I too have been playing, especially adding books to Goodreads and Shelfari. I can't decide which one I like better so am currently updating both. I think I will get tired of doing that quite soon and will just have to stick with one. It is a difficult choice.

I thought I was the only one! It's like I'm doing everything but reading. I've read a bit for the New Year but I'm a fast reader and could've been further in the challenge, except for the fact I'm spending more time lurking on forums (here, Amazon etc) than on reading. This has to change quick, preferably before the weekend.

I've been spending lots of time on these things too. I keep finding out new things I can do with Calibre and I just love playing with it. I'm a real sucker for book covers on both Calibre and goodreads. Even so, I still spend lots of time reading in bed at night.

Don't stress about keeping up with numbers as long as you're enjoying yourself. I'm viewing this not as a challenge really, but more of an experiment to see how many books I do actually read in a year. I'm also enjoying hearing about what others are reading.

Anyone who hasn't already joined us over on goodreads should give it a try. We've decided to make discussion threads by genre to keep things organized. It's nicer than wading through one long reading thread, although I imagine they will all be long by the end of the year.

I've challenged myself to read some genres that are out of my comfort zone this year. I chosen two based on conversations of our group.

Which is not much, since I'm a fast reader. I went back and checked and the last book I finished was on Jan 16, which means I did no book-reading to speak of for the whole week

I agree, I like our goodreads bookclub.

I really should challenge myself to read out of my comfort zone, but I feel so behind in my chosen genre. My TBR pile is so out of control

If you look at my GR shelves, you'll see a new one - tbr-shortlist. My to-read shelf was getting so big I couldn't pick a book, so I took some time and created a shortlist of titles to choose for the next book. It was the only think I could think of to reduce the indecision I face upon finishing a book. Once it gets down to 9 or 10, I'll go back to the to-read shelf and add a few more to the shortlist.

I'm dealing with the same amount of books, but this makes it more manageable.

I started doing that too a little while ago. My TBR list is about 10 books long. But I haven't been able to keep to it. I found that I often want to read a book that isn't on the list because people are really enthousiastic on MR about it (eg. The Hunger Games) or because there isn't anything on my TBR list that I'm in the mood for.
