They may have, but I don't think Neolithic man had evolved far enough to spin or weave. I always thought they just sort of wrapped hides around themselves with simple thongs (long laces rather than the designer wear...) Maybe they did use the sharp stones to poke holes for the laces, but that still falls under Use #1. We need 'Important Use #2.'

Starting fires is Reason #2!

We have a split. Shayne was first with the sharp stuff and Sneaky was first with the fire making.

Noviculite was used in the same manner as flint. When a sharp edge of the stone strikes a piece of Iron pyrite (another stone) sparks fly!

I'll leave it up to you guys to decide who will pose the next question.

Sneaky's in the bushes... again. Until she comes back, how about someone telling us what is sparking when someone uses a flint and steel to throw said spark... Just what is happening there? (And remember... no fair Googling!)

What's to worry about. I got clipped after divorcing my second wife.
It allowed me to sow my wild oats and NOT have pray for a crop failure afterwards.

Join the club! After my second kid, I figured out was was causing them and put a stop to it.

I recall that folks who had the surgery said how painful it would be the next day. Well, the next day I was back at work and thinking that they didn't know what they were talking about. I worked as usual with no slowdown at all. Ha! Those wimps!

The third day I was walking like Tim Conway's old man character.

Besides the pain, folks just can't appreciate the FEAR of seeing a stranger approaching your most delicate gear with a sharp, pointy thing, and you just have the stand there and NOT kick him in the head! (I'm talking about the anesthesia syringe, to say nothing about a real knife!)

But the pain!

Walking was bad, but that awful jolt that would rip through your whole body every time you stepped down from a curb when crossing a street...
OUCH!!! It's been 35 years but I still remember the pain....
