Kobo Discounts: Coupon Codes + Discussion

Okay, I entered my card details and then the voucher code screen comes up .... phew ... thanks very much .... I was just hesitant to take that step in case I got charged before I could enter a voucher code

The 75% code worked for me using Chrome in the NZ site with the new checkout screen

Here's a couple of pics of what I mean:

Click "Continue" after entering your payment info and the next page will give you the option on the left side of your screen to enter a coupon code. Then you have to click "Buy Now" and only then will your purchase be complete and the payment goes through.

Also note that you do not get a download link after that if you were wanting the epub. Instead you get a "Continue Shopping" button. You actually have to go into Your Library and download the book from there.

Wow - I really like this new checkout screen because I can change the country from within and my credit card details stay as they are.

In other words I don't have to keep going back and forwards to my Account Payment Details in order to change my country and then search for the book and then go through the purchase motions.

Much better system now for those of us who country hop!!

Well, no luck on my end. The 75% code said redeemed and the test50 says the promotion is not active. Maybe they wised up to its use

But I swear, one day, I'll use a code worth over 50%, maybe even one worth 75%

Nightyume I'm not sure what country you're in - but if you save your country to New Zealand and then exit Koboboooks.com .... and then use Chrome to start Kobobooks.com you'll find that you're in the new look Kobo and the new look checkout will work for you.

Once in the new look checkout you will get the option to use the various vouchers. Have a read of my posts above and see if they help.

I haven't received any purchase invoices from Kobo, which is unusual, they normally come pretty much immediately after I buy an ebook from them.

I haven't gotten any the past few days using the new checkout. Everything does show in my purchase history though.

Well, in the old checkout I also got the choice for vouchers/promo codes and they worked. Tried switching to New Zealand to see if ti would work that way, maybe some promo codes were region locked after all, but no go. I don't know if the promo codes would have worked but there was no choice to use paypal and it wouldn't accept my card on that page so I couldn't even get to the promo bit.

Honestly, this worries me. If they phase out paypal and stop accepting my card on the new interface then when it becomes ubiquitous I'll be screwed...

I haven't received any either.

However, my last two purchases have not appeared in My Library. Paypal still says "pending" four hours after purchase. It hasn't hit my credit card. The transaction could have been blocked by Amex.

Melmac that's curious that your book was an epub .... because when I checked yesterday it showed as an Epub.

Unfortunately I forget which country I was in, but pretty sure it was Aus.

You're right I was in the US store I just purchased the same book through the Aust store and it has worked fine a happy ending I really need to give this code a rest now! I already have way too much to read
