A wee dram of Bowmore 15yr. at a friend's house. Compared to the Bowmore 18, which I have, the 15 has very little peat in the nose, but equal or slightly more in the mouth.

Coffee with ouzo and Metaxa brandy and a dab of whipped cream. Doesn't quite go with strawberry-rhubarb crisp and vanilla ice cream.

Friday Night -- Pizza and Lagavulin Night. The 11 year Caribbean Rum Cask Offerman Edition. Interesting, and I quite liked it. Not as aggressively phenolic as some other Lagavulins, but not sweet, either. Just a more rounded and refined version. Still lots of peat.

One of my little staff attorneys brought Death Wish coffee into the office break room, so I'm having that. I am...less than impressed. It's too bitter (and gimmicky) for my taste.

I've found that with quite a few 'specialty' coffees. The name and packaging seem to have been more important than the flavour. Enjoying a cup of Lapsang Souchong. Sadly, I may not be able to enjoy it much longer. An employee at the tea shop where I picked up my last packet said that they are having issues sourcing it since the growers are switching to Jin Jun Mei black tea which has become very popular in China. Since the smoking stage is not needed and it's considered a high end tea, the growers can make more money. |

Caribou Obsidian Blend (K-cup). It's dark, but not charred/burnt like many dark roasts taste to me. Pleasantly surprised.
