The conclusion to the trilogy started in Elfhunter (A Tale of Alterra, The World That Is), by C S Marks (already on the list), has been released and is also (currently) 99 cents:

Unfortunately, the second in the trilogy,
Fire-Heart, at $2.99 doesn't meet the guidelines for the list (but I'm linking it here for those who want to find it).

Also not quite low enough for the list, all three volumes of the In Her Name trilogy (Empire, Confederation, Final Battle), from Michael Hicks, are currently marked $1.59 each (the omnibus edition is marked down to 5.59, still a good deal, but not as good as the individual volumes, currently).

Sporadic - feel free to leave these off the list (and I don't know how long they'll be marked down, anyway), but they are too good not to get a mention. I can delete them out later, if you want, when the price goes back up.

I'm not sure how you can list this one - the two books are a buck each, but only if you buy the first one for two bucks. The second book magically appears on your Kindle, you don't actually purchase it.

From August 1st-31st, you could buy Brian Haig's Secret Sanction and receive a free download of Mortal Allies. At the time, both were being sold for $6.39 and I meant to order them, but never go around to doing so. This month, Secret Sanction has been marked down to $1.99 and due to what is no doubt a glitch at Amazon, you still get the second book for free. It's not the first time - several of the "expired" Buy One, Get One Free offers from Amazon still work, although there this no longer any indication of the deals on the first book's product page.

No second book on Legacy yet (hey, she's still in High School, I think). Also no longer free. In fact, it looks like at least 10 books that were free last week are no longer so today (just on one search I use, where the total went from 67 or 68 down to 56 today). I'm not sure which others, but I think Paranoia has dropped of the list (earlier than was advertised).

However, it *is* working right now, for anybody who wants to scan back to find the original message. I just bought Secret Sanction and the second book, Mortal Allies appeared on my Kindle too. Don't count on it -- but it worked just now.

It worked for me too.

On a seperate note, I hope that publishers are making money on the free books (and a new batch is coming). I bought the other books in the series after reading the free Assassin's Apprentice, but I haven't got around to reading some of the other free books I downloaded.

Ditto, on both counts! Assassin's Apprentice was good enough that I bought 2 more of the books (though a friend tells me there are two other series's which are further continuation). So when the freebie is good, they definitely are making money from me!

Yeah, I'm not suggesting you post it. I bought the first one, cuz it *is* at a reduced price of $1.99. I figured if I didn't get the second one, no loss. Each person who tries it needs to have the same attitude.

I check this one (& only this one) many times each week cuz you folks are just right on top of what is currently available on amazon for free & cheap for the Kindle. THANK YOU!!

Skeeter: A Cat Tale by Anne L. Watson is a sweet story that is now available for one cent ($0.01) - this is by the same auhtor that wrote Pacific Avenue (which is already on your list and is also one cent)

Karen - I'd appreciate it if you could post about this one on your blog, and everyplace else you post (KB, for example). I do not know this author in any way, but I do like her work and would like to see it promoted as much as possible (she won't be making any money from it but she might get some well deserved recognition). And for a mere penny we readers are the ones that are getting a great deal on this one.
