The 4.30.x is broken too on my Elipsa. The original FW had BT on/off under Beta and it worked, though nothing to tell you if on or off. On the 4.30.x The BT is moved to settings but tapping on the toggle simply turns on WiFi. I can't enable BT at all. However you can't use the BT Keyboard in the Advanced Notebook for text, only in dialogues where the on-screen keyboard appears including Notes box when annotating.
The BT Keyboard can scroll the Notepad, which isn't paginated (should be option) and will turn page in ebooks and PDFs. I will try earlier FW if I need BT. But I forgot to note version before update. I suppose it was 4.28.17925 July, or one of the June ones? Not 4.28.18220? Last edited by Quoth; 02-21-2022 at 08:35 AM. Reason: Earlier? |

Pretty sure keyboards were never officially supported so them breaking isn’t really the firmwares issue.

No, it's not the keyboard that the issue. With FW 4.30.x on the Elipsa the BT can't be even turned on. Attempting to turn on BT instead turns on WiFi.
The keyboard hasn't broken. There is an issue that you can ONLY input text in the Advanced Notebooks by handwriting conversion. Not even the onscreen keyboard used in adding notes to Annotations. The Elipsa is like an ereader and ewriter that happen to share the same box. No integration at all. Not even copy/paste between notebooks and even in a notebook the copy/paste only seems to append a copy. |

The database corruption and other bugs in 4.31.19086 are killing my pleasure in using my Libra 2.
I want to downgrade to 4.30.18338 (the previous public release), but I want to still be able to use Wi-Fi so that my reading position will sync between my Libra 2 and my Clara HD; so that I can download new purchases from the Kobo store; and so that I can download new Pocket articles -- but I don't want my Kobo to either update back to 4.31.19086 on its own, or force me to do an update. Any suggestions of how I can accomplish that? Many thanks! |

Wow - As many problems as 4.31 has I am still using it for one reason and one reason only. Sideload mode. I don't like having to register the device and I sideload all of my books. 4.31 is the only version that allows this. But I sure would like to see a new version that fixes the power LED bug.

Im just here to say I’m also getting occasional freezes etc with this firmware.
Any news on when Kobo are fixing this? I’m a long term kobo user and committed to the brand, but for a new user of the Libra 2 it’s not the best introduction to kobo. |

I have been selecting 'Update Later' option. But then connecting the device and deleting the update files, because last time this happened I accidentally turned it off and it updated when it booted up! lol
Its a pain.... I wonder if Nicklemenu can be used to delete these files? BEWARE: I just found out if the update files are on the kobo and you don't delete them before ejecting the kobo it will run the update ![]() Last edited by Rid; 02-21-2022 at 05:25 PM. |

I would not be surprised if there were at least a few returns/exchanges from people thinking they'd gotten a bad unit. I know I almost did.
