Are you making sure that the book files are not *.kfx ? Those don't undo. You have to force a download in another format, by some means. ("Download and transfer via USB" ought to produce a file which is not .kfx)

Can confirm that Kobo Desktop 3.18.0 uses the same encryption scheme as 3.17.0, nothing has changed.

Turns out that signing out of Kobo Desktop and back in again did something, and Obok is now working as expected.

Of course, this is a non-trivial process on Kobo (took me three hours of re-downloading), but it worked.

Yes, sometimes it doesn't migrate private keys on upgrade, and then you have to reset the database.

KDA 3.19 has come out, and I can report that I'm having the same problem with Obok again. So far signing out of KDA, signing back in and redownloading my entire library has not been a solution, so if you also find that a very slow process I'd hold off for now.

What is the full version number of desktop application? Kobo found a problem with DRM in the initial 3.19 release and replaced it. The final release version should be 3.19.3665 for Windows and 3.19.2353 for Mac.

The version I have is indeed 3.19.3665, downloaded yesterday, so it looks like this is a final release issue.

I'm sure I can get around this for now using the rather tedious manual download, but I thought I should mention it in case anyone else comes here wondering about the same issue. I've asked on Alf and will update if I hear anything.
