WOW I Lost this thread...even tho I started it
While out shopping on the 3rd I ran into a Sylvania Mini 7" Tables on sale for $100!! Yep I grabed the last one in the store...been playing with it ever since! LOVE IT!! Tho it does not do ALL I want! It Came with Factory upgrade to 2.2 OS Which left out the ability to connect to my laptop or Ex-HD
Like they updated it & then went Backwards I purchased a 16 gig flashdrive holds about 10 movies they play great! & I can hook it up to my TV!! I had a heck of a time getting Android for kindle on it .... But now that works great! Still have not figured out how to save the eBooks to the SD Card...so I can also read them from there. & without computer connection abilities I cant get my ebooks from Calibre I will say its a LOT better than the Craig Tablets I tried back in May...they were just junk! & I took them back within hours!

Thats my update

I think I saw the Sylvania 7" advertised at Big Lots a few weeks ago. The other day I was wondering if you ever found a tablet, so thanks for the update! It sounds like the Sylvania is working well for you.

I don't own any Vizio products, but I must say that their customer service via email was very responsive to questions I had several weeks ago regarding their VTAB1008! They responded quickly and thoroughly addressed my questions about the product.

DreamWriter....Big Lots is where I got it! Was surprised it wasnt a Refurb I had No Problems with it except my own Dumb Non-Techy Brain I just hoping when they do another OS upgrade they Return the programs they took away! Then it would be 100% perfect for ME!

Try Winners. I've seen cheap gadget sleeves and cases there. With my iPad, I lucked out my local Dollarama (I don't know if you have them in the U.S.) and got a some fun neoprene sleeves that cost $2. I've even seen them carrying laptop sleeves for $2.

Enjoy your new gadget! I'm always so excited to get a new 'toy', especially when it is for reading!

I hope the fire meets all your needs, Blossom! The A1 certainly looks sleek, chessico. It's sexier looking than the Flyer (which I got an $8 flip case for right away), and I think I'll always wonder a little about it, but I love my little toy. It's been a joy while sick the past couple of days. Internet, movies, and books all in my hand. I'm a bit in love ...

I liked the Vizio form and screen, I just don't trust the available storage to meet my needs (I'm downloading a lot of apps on the Flyer), but it's certainly a great deal!

I dont think anyone will 100% know for sure How they like the Fire & How it fits their needs til they get it In Hand! All I know I dont want a Tablet that I can Only use with 1 company! Seems to me You can Only Play Movies from Amazon & read eBooks on it from Amazon. & Only allowed to surf web sites ONLY Amazon approved!

You will be able to use non Amazon content on your Fire, Amazon has confirmed it. There's Mantano for epubs, Netflix for Movies and several other apps mention in a thread on here. Go look at the apps Available on Amazon's app Store. Not all will like camera and GPS apps will be allowed but many of the apps on there will.

Winners? Never heard of them. I may wait for some reviews on cases before buying. I have a sleeve here that fits my Kindle Keyboard. So I suspect it will fit the Fire my only concern is it has a magnetic clasp. Do you think that would harm the Device any?
