Black coffee this morning, but last night I indulged in the second edition of the Ava Gardner Select Bourbon Whiskey by Seven Jars Distillery. I very much enjoyed the first edition a few years back. I grew up very near the Ava Gardner childhood home, which was turned into a museum for her. I thought the bourbon might be gimmicky, but it very much was not. Much like the woman herself, it is a good kick in the teeth.

K-Cup coffee. The Culture Shock Blend from House of Java Direct. I've had good luck with their pods (typically see them in Walmart) -- both in terms of price and flavor. Mostly use them at work. Their "Local Tourist Blend" is pretty decent, too.
They're not going too replace fresh ground at home, obviously, but then nothing will. |

Pepsi-Max... my go to low-carbing treat. It's much better than Coke Zero and if you disagree you're a very smelly person.

Enjoying a Coke Zero. Only a barbarian would admit to enjoying a Pepsi Zero (aka Pepsi Max, a name still used in uncivilized areas of the world).

Typing this one handed whilst pinching my nose with the other...
Shouldn't it be "Coke Max" as Pepsi Max predates the inferior "Zero" offering? |

AFAIR, in my area, Coke Zero was introduced well before Diet Pepsi Max which was later renamed Pepsi Max and then to Pepsi Zero Sugar (2015??). A very vague memory that there was a decision that Zero Sugar could not be protected as the mark immediately describes and names the characteristics and features of the goods.
All this makes me want to have another Coke Zero. |

"Pepsi MAX, which has its roots in Europe but is relatively new to the U.S. Pepsi MAX first launched in 1993 overseas and came to the U.S. in 2007, two years after Coke Zero's release"
Pepsi is the OG hero, Coke just a... nope too easy. Still Pepsi Max the UK and every European country I've been too. Last edited by neil_swann80; 03-06-2024 at 08:55 PM. |

I still drink Diet Pepsi. I don't see the other variations of 0 calorie Pepsi sodas. Years ago I tried to drink Diet Coke and it left a bad after taste and headache on me. I had a Coca-Cola habit in the late '80s and '90s. I remember Tab and thought it was much better than Diet Coke.
It's late here, so I had Twinings Butter Mint tea. |

I found the buttermint tea a few months ago when I was looking for Twinings peppermint. I like it a lot. It led to my ordering butter mints on Amazon.
