Guess it takes all sorts. Some can't bear to be near ashes, some can't bear to let them go. I agree -- that's not the loved person anymore. They're gone! |

Speaking of Bruges
The city has run a pipeline from the oldest continually operating brewery in the city center to a bottling plant outside of town.

The widow of a writer I knew decades ago kept his ashes in an urn that served as a bookstop on the shelf where copies of his books were shelved. The wife of a friend didn't come out of the hospital after an operation. (She had been advised not to have the procedure because of the risk she might not survive, but insisted on doing it anyway.) He and a mutual friend scattered her ashes over the Berkshire mountains in Vermont in accordance with her wishes. My late neighbor who used to live across the hall from me kept his mother's ashes in his refrigerator. Why he felt they needed to be refrigerated was beyond me, but he was a strange fellow in an assortment of ways. And there is a US outfit making synthetic gems that will turn the loved one's ashes into an artificial diamond you can wear as jewelry, though I haven't encountered anyone who does. ______ Dennis |

I woke up to use the bathroom and found my great big hubby trying to take a bath in our itty bitty tub. I emphasis "trying" he somehow folded his huge frame in the tub and was now stuck. The tub is so small it's made for kids not adults.
He also made a tidal wave getting in and flooded the floor and what does he do? He grabs all the dirty clothes out of the hamper to sop it all up. So now I have to hang all those clothes to dry so they don't mildew before I can get them to a laundry mat.He just looks at me and says "...uh I didn't think this through..." Who needs kids when you got a husband like mine?!? *sigh* Sent from my XT1528 |

Wondering what bit me 3 different times while I was outside.
The outside critters are fed. (Scraps) The trash is carried out. Last night's dishes are soaking. And I got no mail today. |

Looking for a program in which I can easily make collages for printing. Next week I'm ordering a photo printer that can handle A4 size paper, I now have a Canon Selphy which is 4x6 (though you can combine photographs easily), but I want more flexibility. But I want to be able to put multiple photographs on one page to print. Yes, I an use Paint.net or Gimp for it, but to put together one page will take a lot longer than using the collage option in other software.
It looks like I'm going to have to get Adobe Lightroom, added bonus is that I can easily adjust and polish photograph within the same program. However, the stand alone is €130 (I refuse to pay €12 a month for the subscription version). |

Feeling slightly ashamed. It only took about 10 minutes to clear most of the junk in front of my closet. I've been dreading that pile for a long time. It was a lot of cardboard, which is now all neatly put in one box and waiting to be carried downstairs.
Now I need to work my way through two bags of smoky clothes to see if I want to save anything and clear out my printer cupboard and I'm officially done for the day. I've decided to take baby steps instead of forcing myself to clean up a lot in two days, failing and getting discouraged. I'm also considering putting a laminate floor in my step in closet. It now has a sort of cork flooring, which always feels kinda dirty, especially in humid weather. |

Maisy has been puking since 5 this morning. Sweet pea then decided to puke on my bed destroying my sheets. After shampooing my mattress I got a fan on it to dry.
Hubby was sleeping but he in the desk chair now and I'm on his bed. We both haven't slept and are tired. I need to shampoo the rug still. We don't have any places to sit other than beds or desk chair. Sent from my XT1528 |

I love my mom. I called her crying about my sheets. She got my sister up and they went to Walmart and got me a new set. Seeing my mattress is a Twin XL they only had one print. You men would love it. Hunting in Autumn camouflage. It matches my husband's lunch cooler. lol.
I'll miss my hot pink sheets though. Sent from my XT1528 |
