Today I applied for VA health care for hubby. Now waiting to be approved and first appointment made. Thank goodness St Louis has a very large VA hospital not far from here.
His foot has to be seen. I think whatever started off as gout has turned into something else. Sent from my XT1528 |

Kids just got on the school bus and I have a crap ton of work to do (I'm self employed and crazy busy working from home). It's raining and dark out and I'd love nothing more than to curl back up into bed and READ all day on my new Kobo. But unfortunately I need to be an adult today. Sometimes adulting really sucks!

Waking up, in a couple of hours it's time to go back home. I still need to see if I can fit my new coat in my suitcase.
Despite the heat it was fun. Bruges is a beautiful tow, with lots of beautiful buildings a a lot of shops. It's small enough to see most of it in a couple of days. Hopefully the train trip back won't be as adventurous as the one on Sunday. Sent from my SM-T713 using Tapatalk |

Blossom I hope your hubbies wait to be approved and seen is not too long. I now have two friends suffering with gout. Now your hubby too. Does the weather affect it too?
CatherineStewart. Darling photo of the kids walking hand in hand down the lane. Agree being the adult some times is not as fun as curling up and reading. Rumpelteaser I hope you do have a safe trip back. I mailed a package off to my hubbies sister the other day and had to sit on it with tape in hand to get it shut. Then lots more wraps of tape to keep it shut. Yesterday was a long day for me. I believe I now have all of hubbies estate all sorted out and nothing more to do unless some thing more comes in the mail I am unaware of. Made so many lists of things I had to take care of and filed the last one when I got home yesterday. A 90 mile drive , 6 stops one lasting 2 1/2 hours discussing financial end of things.UGH I was exhausted when I got home. Ate a cheese stick , unplugged the phone grabbed my blankie locked the doors and took a three hour nap. Felt so good to just let go lay back and sleep. I do not even care I missed dinner too. Too late to eat when I woke up. I did evening chores and went back to bed. I had almost 15 hours sound sleep and feeling so much better today. Now I get to go back to sorting and organizing my newly moved studio and guest room. Might even move some more furniture around too. I have two posters to hang. One old one new both in new frames. Excited to get back to this project and get done so I can start creating again. Have a good one folks. |

Time for my next project.
I want to start using my step in closet again. Over the years it has become a dumping ground, not only for me but also for my mother (I don't want to throw this out, you have a big closet so you save it). After the fire next door over three years ago I haven't really used it at all. This weekend I'm going to clean the area in front of it. There are several trash bags of clothes, I haven't touched them since the fire. So I need to go through them to see if I want to save anything (probably not much), there are also several empty boxes of things I bought recently that I haven't thrown away yet. I might also tackle the floor in the closet, so I have room to start sorting the shelves. Luckily my father is planning on going to the dump/recycle centre on Monday. Next week I want to try to empty at least one shelf a day, decide if I want to save it, throw it out or give back to my mother. The things I want to save I'll store in boxes I can put on the top shelves. I plan to use the rod and two shelves for clothing. The top shelves will be storage for things I want to save but don't need to use, the other shelves I'll use for storage for my crafting stuff. I'm also thinking of buying some cheap LED strips from Ikea for the lower 4 shelves, they are very deep and the bulb on the ceiling doesn't light them good enough to see properly. |

In the continuing saga of the scattering of my grandmother's ashes. We've got a date, next Sunday and I've heard back from all cousins but one if they want to stay for a drink. The one cousin also didn't reply with the dates he could and could not come, so I didn't even send him a reminder about the fact he hadn't let me know if he wanted to join us. I'm assuming he won't come.
My parents were the ones who volunteer my sister and I for this task. However, my sister hasn't done anything to help me. She first used the excuse that she was busy finding her own place and when she found an apartment she was busy with arranging finance, buying a new kitchen, packing her stuff, etc (she's signing the final contract in three weeks). However, I have decided that she's going to perform one task that doesn't take up any of her time except on the Sunday of the scattering: she's in charge of the ashes and the scattering itself. She wasn't too happy about it, but couldn't say much about it. It kinda is my little revenge for all the times I do the hard work and she gets all the credits. It maybe bitchy from me, but since I've dealt with the sh*tstorm from my cousin this is the least she can do. |

When my grandmother's ashes came back, my aunt called and said mother's ashes are in. Can you go get them? I have teenagers in the house and I am afraid they will mess with the ashes. I just said yes. Note: she could have brought them back to grandmother's house which we weren't selling. She had a key. Oh and said teenager had just had a baby and would have killed anyone that messed with grandmother. I knew the real reason. She couldn't bear to go to the funeral home. |

TBH I'm not bothered by the ashes. For me it's just ashes and not really my grandmother's remains. I prefer to remember her as a person, not as something stuffed in an urn. |
