After the trip to Bruges I plan on treating myself to a new printer to print photographs on. I really love my Canon Selphy, but you are limited in which size you can print. I'm planning on getting the Canon Pixma MG7750 and I'm now trying to find out what the maximum thickness of paper it can handle.

I just received the ink ribbon for my typewriter. It's the correct size and the typewriter is working brilliantly again. According to my mother, my grandfather bought the typewriter about 50 years ago and the last time I used it was during my typing exam just over 19 years ago.
I don't think my grandchildren (if I have any) will dig up my current desktop or notebook and printer and get it working again. |

I hope all goes well for him. Sounds pretty serious if he's in surgery.

I am back................. Sad times I lost my hubby on the 19 of August. He had a peaceful passing which I am so thankful for. His best friends were here in the morning and they were laughing it up and having a good time telling old stories. He was always ambulatory right up to an hour before he passed. Had home made lasagna for dinner the night before he passed. Eggs and toast the morning of. Hospice had been here a little over an hour before and none of us suspected he would go so quickly. So I guess it was a blessing. I miss him so much. We had a great 31 years. The memories make me smile.
I am doing fine. I knew this day was coming and happy I had mental plans on how to cope. Making big changes inside the house. Living room first. I could not keep looking at his empty chair. I moved my mosaic work table into the living room and threw open the drapes. Re-arranged all but two pieces of furniture. Made the gun cabinet into a storage cabinet for my most used glass bits. Then switched my studio room for the guest room and still working on all of that. It is so difficult to switch two rooms filled to the max with each other and paint one in the process. My poor body is screaming at me today so trying to take it easy and catch up on places where I have been MIA for quite awhile. I will try to go back and read some here after I finish my morning chores. |

I'm glad you had a plan, Shades. But do some "taking it easy" too, and let yourself relax, as well as "cope". Hope you continue doing well. So sorry for your loss.

I finally got hubby to take Colchicine. After dealing with gout for about two months the stubborn man has decided to try it. I'm crossing my fingers and toes it works.

Blossom that is very good news for your Brother and his partner. Hugs for you and them. I have a friend here that has gout and she swears drinking cherry juice really helps her. She was eating cherries when they were in season too. Now only the juice is available here.
Thanks all for the good wishes. I am doing ok. I do miss hubby every moment of every day but try to just remember the good times we had and how lucky we were in our 31 years together. Keep plowing through all the paper work. I must be getting closer to being done. The hardest part is not being able to tell him the silly things I heard or saw we always shared. So I am writing them down to him. "Things I want to tell you You probably already know." Changing the house around just for me is helping. No cost except for another gallon of paint. A small price to pay for comfort. Yes a box of wine would cost less but I do not think it would look too good on the walls. I had two very productive days yesterday and Friday and hope to have another today. I still have one room trashed from the switching of the two rooms one for the other and I can not even bare to look in the door. So taking on that mess today. Been reading on a book for over month. I read to put myself to sleep at night. Lately I am so done in by the time I hit the bed I am only reading a few pages before I wake with the kindle in my face glasses on place in the book lost and I have been asleep for three hours this way. LOL Time for me to get moving here. Looks like it is going to be another lovely day. Was good to do lots of yard work yesterday. I am working on fencing in the whole yard so I can have the dog out with me when I am working. He can only go into about half of it now and cries when I leave his area. I have about 80 more foot of fence to put up. I am using cattle panels so it goes quickly when I can get them here. Batteries in the truck are dead and I need the snowmobile loading rack off the truck. I do not dare back it out of the garage. There is only about 2 inches on each side clearance for the rack at the doorway. It is a big Dodge Diesel truck. I took it to the dump once this year. The only time it has been out of the garage. Joe backed it out and put it back in the garage. It is a great truck to drive it is just so big. |

Taking a short break at the hotel in Bruges. This morning we shopped. Even though temperatures can reach 29C today I bought a nice and warm winter coat. We're going to have a relaxed picnic lunch in the park, then take a boat tour and then an early dinner before a relaxing evening at the hotel.
