Remember our government is in favour of unblocking geo restrictions (and there's a couple of threads here on MR about it).

In fact, our print and epress, as well as out tv stations have all presented info on how to go about geo unblocking in order to epurchase.

Well today Kobo astounded me when I realised that they had declared Norfolk Island not to be part of Australia, by giving the island it's own site, using USD as currency. Well!!!

Their ignorance is our gain, fellow Australians (and any Kiwis who might also benefit) because Kobo appears to price the Norfolk Island ebooks the same as US priced ebooks - except promo codes work. So there!

Yep - Norfolk Island is very definitely part of Australia, very definitely uses only AUD and is covered by 2 Federal electorates - Islanders have the choice of which one they want to enrol in.

I made good of Kobo's ignorance and bought a book listed at usd8.49 using a 55% off voucher for usd$3.82.

That ebook would have otherwise cost me AUD$10.99, and no voucher applicable!
