Playing a quick catch up. Been a busy week and so hot. I need to get out in the yard as early as possible to do as much as I can before it gets super hot.

Blossom so sorry you were missing so much sleep. I hope you are caught up by now and feeling better. WOW on the kitty food making them ill. Like you needed more troubles with added clean up NOT.

Rumpelteaser what a decision to make. I guess if the less expensive motel/hotel room was ok to begin with then maybe spend the saved money on lower rates now to do more fun things. Then again if you are really just wanting a pampering experience go for the luxury.

Quick update on hubby. Three of the larger lung tumors have shrunk by about 1/3. But, and there is always a but in this game of chance, there is now a lesion on his spine. The oncologist said if it continues to cause more pain, he has been complaining his back hurts, they can do radiation on it. The chemo was making him too sick so the dose has been reduced. Doc said it is a marathon not a sprint for him. Also added prednisone to aid in his appetite. So far he is doing better this round of chemo. Having lost my first husband to cancer I know the ups and downs. I am trying really hard to remain positive.

I have been working on some mosaic stone toppers for a memorial for a friend, Getting ready to photo and package them to head to Florida for her. I was using up many of my small glass scraps left over from other projects. I will try to get a picture posted here. I needed the calm time spent in my studio for a few hours. Hubby was watching boxing on TV all this week and loves it . Me not so much.

We were supposed to have company next week and this has been put off for another week and this is wonderful because we are also having company two weeks later. This is great I can get both sets of company in on one big house cleaning. Always looking for the easy way out.

Time to start the gravy train around here then get out to the yard.

I just got woken by a restless cat. Maisy is not happy with the new food. She picks through it. I guess I should have gotten the indoor formula which they had before. It's made with Turkey this one is Chicken and has moist pieces which neither will eat. It's payday so I'll just grab a small bag of the Turkey.

I'll give this to my mom's cat who will eat anything. He's not picky.

I swear it looks like Maisy is gaining weight her back spine no longer protrudes out so much and her emaciated look is gone.

Blossom that is good news for Maisy. Maybe she was a little bit dehydrated.My kitties like the indoor food the best. Even the out door guys.

I'm not getting any awards for fur parenting this year. I was resting in the dark and Sweet pea my Tuxedo cat has been stressed so she decided to lay by the bed instead of on it. She's more black than white. I didn't see her and I kicked her when I got up. She's okay and not holding a grudge and got lots of treats but I feel bad. I know everyone has accidentally kicked or stepped on a pet but she was already feeling scared and stressed over her sister and maybe a tad sick from the Iams herself. Both our hearts were racing.

I am convinced the Iams was bad we all three are starting to recover. Maisy has had two good days in a row other than not liking the new food.

Freaking out. I was just talking to a medical person who agrees I and my cats have salmonella.

The symptoms fit. It took me longer because I was so focused on Maisy that I didn't realize Sweet pea is ill too. She hides is very well but subtle changes. Depression was the thing that I noticed the most. I said to her "You're acting like someone is abusing you, running from me and acting scared." She's not stressed she's sick. Her litter box habits are hard to know because she is a digger. She hides everything really well but yeah they are not normal. The CDC list symptoms that are spot on for Maisy and Sweet pea.

My swollen lymph nodes is a very common sign of salmonella and fever. I had both though the fever was only a few days. Lymph nodes are no longer swollen which is also a good sign I'm coming out of it.

My immediate thought is we need medical attention! I then realize it's Saturday and I have no way still. I'm gonna be okay. I had salmonella before when I was a teen. To this day I can't eat Tuna. I was hospitalized because it was so bad this was mild compared to that. I feel better each day.

I want to get my babies to a vet very soon. This is why no matter what I feed them it's upsets their tummies.

Maisy was the first to take sick. It was three days into the pink bag it started. So it may be the source but may not. She has done better the past two days but I read it can take weeks for litter box habits to become normal. I just order some more gloves. I'm gonna have hubby pick up supplies needed for serious hand washing. Not that I don't already wash my hands 50+ times a day but it couldn't hurt to be more cautious.

I told my girls. We will get through this.

Not a vet but since the diarrhea is causing a loss of electrolytes, might I recommend giving them Pedialyte instead of water. It will help restore the electrolytes.
According to pet MD, there is not much a vet can do unless they are severe.

Yeah I plan on doing that. Sweet pea is acting ill. She got this I don't feel good look on her face and she is on her haunches. Maisy never acted really sick just had litter box issues and acted mad alot but sweet pea oh she just looks so depressed. It's getting to me. She's my cuddle bug. I'm giving her lots of love.
