I was trying to give her some high calorie paste before I knew she was a diabetic and she tried chewing it which resulted in a mess.

Today she is in her crate. She must have overdone it as it back to restlessness and trips to the litter box. She seems to have lost even more weight these past few days. I read without insulin she will just keep going that way. I read all the vomiting was caused from her sugar being out of whack. I could try to switch her to canned again but if that makes her worse as the vet told me not to as she isn't vomiting but it's 33% carbs so it's bad for her sugar. The only can I have is the gravy kind because that's what she likes. It's better but not on the approved list for diabetics.

I know what must be done. Dang! This is got to be the hardest thing we've done as hubby was so hopeful last night.

Okayyyyy ... since numerous web sites mention this (I googled "onion tea recipe for babies") there must be something to it. I just posted it for a friend with a 2 month old, who mentioned colic recently. We'll see if she decides to try it.

Well now, I learned it from my husband who had learned about it when he was growing up.
Hope it helps your friend.
Oh and what am I doing. I am making cookies, (freezing the dough), a banana pudding and maybe a fruit salad. Or in other words, cleaning out the refrigerator.

OHHHHH I have a couple this way too. I take the pate and add half a can of water. into a cottage cheese dish. Then I use my stick blender and whip that icky stuff until I am about ready to hurl. Making it smooth as silk and frothy. Then put it in the fridge and chill. It turns out this disgusting froth moose kind of stuff they can not resist. It turns it all to the gravy. Woooo be tide me if I leave even one tiny bit of solid. They will reject it in a heart beat.

I also have kitties here that will not eat canned food no matter what I do to it. They will drink tuna juice. And I do feel all the kitties kibble. I use the indoor version in the green bag.

Maisy was raised on Iams Indoor Weight & Hairball Control. It's was her only food till this year. It's very high in carbs so when she could no longer keep it down I switch to Fancy Feast classic pâté which was a disaster. They both had tummy issues on it so I switched Iams Healthy Adult and for two weeks I guess her sugar leveled out but then we got Iams Hairball care because the sweetpea has a hairball issue. Why just this morning I sat on one. Ugh! Maisy got sick again so switched back To Healthy Adult but by that time she couldn't hold it down at all. I guess her pancreas was starting to go worse. We now feed her Iams Sensitive Stomach which is still high in carbs but she has keep it down only when using the litter box does she puke. I don't have a stick blender but it sounds like a solution that could work.

My blenders are 48 and 40 years old. Well the older one is mine, the younger one is my husband's. Though don't use them very often.
My newest sewing machine is also 48.
My mom gave me both years ago.

Ok do you have a hand mixer?

I'm shopping in Calibre for book to read. For my reading challenge I'm only allowed to read book I've bought before July 1. Eventhough I have a TBR pile of over 800 it's proving hard. Especially since I've got a couple of new book I really want to read.

My sister and I have planned a couple of days away during the last weekend of August. We only don't know where we want to go. We're not even sure we want to stay in the Netherlands or go abroad. The only thing we know is that we don't want to spend a huge amount of money.

I'm trying to relax after cleaning Maisy's crate today. It got messy again. She is feeling worse today and she's very upset to lose her bed. It's times Like these I wish I had a washer. She's been very vocal which isn't good. I've tried to soothe her. Neighbors are home. I don't need them to make a complaint.

My sister is now refusing to give me a ride to the vet. Hubby isn't off of work for another eight days due to severe staff shortage.

I feel helpless. All I can do is make Maisy as comfortable as possible. I feel like a bad fur parent not being able to help her more.

I can get a stick blender for $12 on Amazon. I'll have to wait for payday. That's nine days away. Found her old bowl from Tennessee and put half a can of Friskies in it. She licked all the gravy and left the meat. If I can get a stick blender maybe I can blend the meat into the gravy then transition to pâté smoothies later.

You could try mashing it with a fork. It will not work as well as the stick blender but might help. Adding in the water also helps. Maybe a friend has a stick blender you can borrow. So frustrating when all they will eat is the gravey and this is such a common thing for kitties. There are recipes on how to make kitty gravey. Check Google. I have not tried to make it myself. I was considering it when I came up with the stick blender.

Hugs for this. You are a good fur Mommy.

Stick blender is ordered. It will be here Tuesday. I had to call around to borrow the money but if this will improve her quality of life then it was worth it. Waiting till payday was not an option.

I'm sitting here trying to relax a moment researching canned food for diabetic cats.

Maisy spent the night with her crate open. I was just too exhausted to deal with trying to listen for potty breaks. She slept in her crate but was up on the windowsill this morning when I got up. Only had to shampoo the rug once due to inability to hold food down after litter box use which she seems to be able to use now on her own. She's in her cardboard box now. Unless she's gets ill I let her stay out so she isn't cooped up but keep her food in her crate so she knows that's her place.

Sweetpea is happy she loves canned food. No problem transitioning her from dry to wet. She won't eat canned that has been fridge though. She likes it room temp. Maisy doesn't have a temp preference.
