:'( we are 75 breezy. Partly cloudy with bright blue sky between clouds.
Just ordered a case for the Fire friend sent to me. It is a Beautiful magenta/purple color but so slick I am afraid I will drop it.Needs a case. Bought purple, of course. Back to cutting rug strips and my crochet. IF I can extract kitty off my ironing board so I can use it. LOL Stay cool as you can. I love to use my out door shower on days like you are having. |

I love a thunderstorm, but even I got fed up with them when they occurred almost every night and lasted for more than an hour. Right now we've got up and down weather: a couple of days of hot (25C+) weather, followed by a week of temperatures that are normal or cool for the time of year, often with rain before temperatures rise again to too hot and humid to be comfortable. |

Hey Rumpelteazer,
Can I come visit? I will bring my jacket. The high here has been over 40 C for the last 3 weeks. Your highs are lower than our lows. |

I don't do heat very well, never have. My mother was able to sunbathe for hours on end when my grandparents had a holiday home (they stayed in the smaller boat house and we always stayed all summer in the big house). I never lasted more than five minutes before retreating indoors with a book or getting on my bike and cycle around the lakes. Three years ago I got eczema (which get worse when it's warm or when I'm stressed) and sun allergy. At the time I was dog sitting and I never spend long in the sun. But part of my skin got a bit swollen, red, flaky and itchy. So even for dog walks or cycling home/the store and back I now use sunscreen. However, last year when we went to Krakow we had several days of what I would call hot weather (25C+) in the Netherlands and one day over 30C. But it was a different kind of heat. Only on the 30C+ day did I really get hot and when you sat in the shade for 5 or 10 minutes and had a drink or, even better, and ice cream you would feel better immediately. That has never worked for me like that in the Netherlands. Last edited by Rumpelteazer; 07-12-2016 at 03:09 PM. |

My eBook library is much larger than yours, and I consequently need finer distinctions and more tags. One thing I've been looking at in the background is solutions outside of Calibre for some kinds of searches. Calibre does a wonderful job of searching the book's metadata to zero in on volumes. What I'd like to do in many cases is search the book's content. This is not something Calibre can do, and it's made more complicated by the number of eBook formats out there. By preference, I get volumes in ePub format, and can convert using Calibre if needed to something else. (My old Palm TX PDA has a Mobipocket viewer, for instance, but Palm went away before ePub was designed. I've use Calibre on occasion to convert ePub->Mobi so I can read a volume on the TX. I also have books in PDF, DjVu, HTML and a few other forms. There doesn't happen to be a generalized search utility that can open all of them and search the content, and I'm not sure individual specialized tools exist for all of them. What I would probably need to do is use Calibre to convert to HTML, for which search tools exist, but that's only reasonable for a small fraction of the total number I have. Quote:

It's days like this makes me glad I don't have a yard. In the cool a/c but it's been overcast a lot today. I'm trying to decide between napping or reading. The cats are napping.

I was catching up on email after being gone all day and playing catch up when we got home from chemo day. I looked up to mentally compose my thoughts and looked out the living room door window and this guy came to dine on the sagebrush on our hill. Even though we do live in the city we are pretty rural. http://www.flickr.com/photos/5018566...posted-public/ Still more chores to get done before my head hits the bed. |

I'm watching my cats play tag. It's a miracle. Maisy my oldest has been on a Pepcid for three days and it is working. She has kept food down shows no signs of nausea. She's more energetic and she's seems able to get up and down better. She's 14 years old. The vet didn't have any real options. I refuse to give up that easy.
She woke me up this morning because she was bored. It's good to have my girl back. Sent from my XT1528 using Tapatalk |
