I'm at my "cottage". It's tiny but well furnished. When I got her it was raining, later it was sunny for a little bit before it started raining again. The cottage has got a vaulted ceiling and the rain sounds really nice. Which is good, because it will stay wet at least until the weekend.
I've had an early dinner so I've got a long evening ahead of me. After a shower I'm going to make a pot of tea and curl up on the sofa. I think I'm going to watch a detective and read. |

Two just came waddling by, which is weird since there is no water nearby my cottage. One stopped underneath a bush and just started at me for five minutes before its mate returned and the waddled off again.

Just finished feeding my cat (as in "putting food in her mouth". She has refused to eat by herself since December. Her health is not particularly good, but her eating problems are psychological, I think. She eats well enough when I put the food in her mouth. So I have to feed her at least twice a day).

I hope you're cat will do better soon Sirtel.
I'm enjoying myself so far. A lot of rain was predicted, but so far there were only a couple of short rain showers. Tuesday evening, yesterday and so far this morning is has been quite sunny. For this afternoon a lot rain is predicted, again. In an hour or so I'm planning to cycle to the nearby village. I want to get some food that the supermarkt on the park doesn't have and see if I can get some birdfeed. This afternoon I think I'm going to be creative. Either get started with my new colouring book or make some sketches. |

Thank you.
![]() Just finished watching the Ukraine-Northern Ireland game. Making coffee now. It looks like it'll be raining again soon, but otherwise the weather is quite nice and warm here, birds singing etc. I love early summer. |

What my grandson, who is a member here but never posts, is doing at the moment is this: he's waging a war on wasps again. There are about five nests in the gazebo, and several mud daubers who have built nests in the garage. Neither group bothers me, but Mobile Beastdon doesn't like that every time anyone goes through the garage, the mud daubers get in their face to check them out and hover in the doorway to the yard forcing anyone going through to do a dance with them. I've never known mud daubers to be particularly aggressive, and as for the wasps in the gazebo, they have yet to sting anyone or I would go to war with them myself. The worst they do is fly around my head while I'm reading my Kindle. Occasionally one of the clumsier ones will fall from one of the nests and land on me while I'm reading, but I figure as long as it doesn't sting everything's cool.

So what are you doing RIGHT NOW?
Well, my grandson got rid of all the wasp nests, of which there turned out to be seven, not five as I supposed. The nests are all down and the wasps have all scattered except for two highly irritated individuals who continue to buzz the place. Guess I won't be reading in the gazebo this afternoon. I've had a few battles with wasps in my time, too, but I've never started any of the fights. I've always been one to leave things be that don't bother me.

Yikes! So glad to hear they are gone. My mom needs to have that done. Her house has that problem every summer.

My grandson is the one who is bothered by their presence. Dive bombing and stinging I could understand, but as long as they're content to just dive bomb I don't mind. Really, is that a thing? I just thought the ones falling on me were just the klutzes of their tribe. |

I think fear and aggression are closely related, and since they smelled neither on me, you may be right.
