I'm catching up and still back on this one. I give up and will look it up. For those of you with a little curiosity....
Spoiler:
The $64,000 Question had its roots in the CBS radio quiz show, Take It or Leave It, .. On September 10, 1950, Take It or Leave It changed its title to The $64 Question.... On both Take It or Leave It and The $64 Question, contestants were asked questions devised by the series' writer-researcher Edith Oliver. She attempted to make each question slightly more difficult than the preceding one. After answering a question correctly, the contestant had the choice to "take" the prize for that question or "leave it" in favor of a chance at the next question. The first question was worth one dollar, and the value doubled for each successive question, up to the seventh and final question worth $64. During the 1940s, "That's the $64 question" became a common catchphrase for a particularly difficult question or problem. In addition to the common phrase "Take it or leave it", the show also popularized another phrase, widely spoken in the 1940s as a taunt but now mostly forgotten (except in Warner Bros. cartoons). Chanted in unison by the entire audience when someone chose to risk their winnings by going for the $64 prize, it was vocalized with a rising inflection: "You'll be sorrr-REEEE!" from wikipedia

healing - therapist? function - doing - physical?

so, physical therapist is cushy job?

The cryptic clue one must be 'sinecure', I think - 'sine' is a mathematical function, 'cure' is healing.

The puffinus puffinus one I don't know exactly except that it must be a shearwater of some kind.

It is indeed a shearwater - a Manx shearwater to be precise.

I'm afraid that I've just nipped out of an all day meeting to post this, so no time to come up with a question.

I will be back at about 5:00 UK time, but if anybody wants to pop a question in in the mean time - feel free

I throw in a fun one...

American TV has always been pretty conservative. Even married folks had to sleep in separate beds on TV.

Who was the FIRST married couple to be seen on American TV sleeping in the same bed!

Sorry, even they slept in separate beds for the first several years of their show. During that time two other couples started this scandalous behavior!

Nope!
Despite the fact that Lucy gave birth on the same day as one of her shows (and made it to the studio to play Lucy Ricardo giving birth) she was not even allowed to use the word 'pregnant' during the show. It was on the list of words 'not permitted' on TV!

Hint: There are three different families attributed;
2 of them were Mom and Dad and two kids...
1 was just mom and dad BEFORE the censorship began!

Loooong before Archie and Edith.

Hints:
The shows I'm thinking of were in the 60's!
One couple had two sons. One son went to a garden party...
One couple had only a daughter, but a VERY large pet... cartoon pets.
There is some question as to which of these two showed mom and dad in bed first. But it was in the same year.

The show that was just mom and dad was actually the very first sitcom, back in the late 40's, and before the censors ruled that sleeping in the same bed was too suggestive.

I'm off to bed now. With these hints you should be able to guess the first two easily. One of you post the next question.

Well, the second one must be Fred and Wilma Flintstone. No idea of the others though.
