And you will like it. It takes place in Oahu and he gets the local characters very right.

I have a review copy of a new ebook that an author sent me, and I am also starting 'The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks' (I am in a non-fiction mood these days. It is excellent and I am already engrossed. It is about the woman whose cells became the first 'immortal line' of cells in medical history.

Cool. I've actually run across people who remember hearing about it when they were younger. Some, even as children remembering the trials when the young women sued for damages.

I just finished Déjà Dead by Kathy Reichs. I thought it was a good story, the pacing and the way the pieces gradually fell into place was just right, but her writing style is a little rough around the edges and some of the similies she employs are just plain weird. I find myself bouncing between a preference for forensic science heavy procedurals and fluffier cozies. For the moment, my preferences lean toward the former. I zipped my way through the first 10 Kay Scarpetta novels, found my interest waning with the 11th, and was so disgusted by the 12th that I gave up halfway through. I've enjoyed the first four volumes of the Body Farm series that's co-written by Bill Bass and John Jefferson, although I thought that the third book in that series was the weakest.

I just started The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy on my Sony 600. Loving it so far. In paperback, I'm finishing up Stone of Tears by Terry Goodkind.

Read Tombstoning by Doug Johnstone followed by The Swap by Antony Moore. School reunions in seaside small towns with cliffs are to be avoided, it seems Very entertaining books both of them, and both debuts.

Now started Six Suspects by Vikas Swarup and I'm listening to The girl who kicked the hornets' nest. I have lost interest a little, maybe I should have left some time between the three books.
