Making shopping lists for the craft and hobby fair I'm attending on Wednesday. One list is for items I need to buy and another for items I would like to buy if I can get a good deal.

I've managed to save a bit of extra money so I've decided not only to get the remaining two ink pad sets from Stampin' Up, but also the ink pad spinner.

I'm also in need of a good big paper trimmer to trim bigger amounts of paper with without having to replace the blade often. I think a self-sharpening guillotine trimmer will work best.

To be honest, I like the preparation for a fair even more than attending the fair. If it's the same as last year it'll get busy quickly. Last year I managed to see everything and buy everything in just over two hours. I was leaving just as it was getting too busy for me.

Well .... after surviving a year or so of sundry medical 'adventures' I've finally gotten back to dealing with the yard ....

FINALLY had the juniper bushes trimmed back -- last year's snow had snapped many main branches and the live bushes contained a lot of dead stuff that needed to be removed ... and the dang things had shot up to over 10 feet high (apparently overhanging tree branches had blocked their access to sunlight, so they tried to grow through the tree branches to reach the sunlight). Also had said low hanging tree branches trimmed off. And 6 dead or trash trees removed. LOT more sunlight now. And some angry squirrels. Looking for new branches to hang the bird feeders.

So had to order 2 pallets of pine straw bales to spread over the newly exposed ground around the roots of the remaining junipers to prevent soil erosion this winter. Will wait till spring to ponder whether to plant ground cover or a line of low shrubs to hold the soil as the junipers regrow.

Fortunately pine straw is light weight and fairly easy to deal with. And smells great.

Reading reviews for the Honor 7 smartphone. My 3,5 year old Samsung Galaxy phone is getting super slow (even after removing most apps) so I'm in need of a new one. The Honor 7 seems to fit the bill; a decent price, good camera and a memory card slot.

Just got home from Kiev after 11 nights away. It was an interesting place to work for a while, but I'm very happy to be home!

Unfortunately, my wife and son are still on their way back from visiting my parents so I'll have to wait a while to see them. I'll have a bath while I'm waiting.

Arranging a handful of songs for a musical group
I work with. Transposing them from a key that is
almost impossible for some of the members, to a
more 'user friendly' one. Love doing this, but it all
takes time!

Rearranging my desk. I've bought a lot of new craft stuff this week and I need to find a place for my new tools.

To treat myself after a stressful week I've planned a creative Sunday. I've got some ideas for cards, I'll need to start making the Christmas decorations for the store and if I have time I might do some colouring in my new colouring book.

Since it FINALLY stopped raining, I was able to distribute the bales of pine straw along the yard, and started flinging the stuff onto the newly exposed ground -- it felt good!

I couldn't make devil's food as I was out of egg yolks. I had egg whites I needed to use.
