Waiting for my sister to answer my email/what's app message.

We had planned to go stay for one night at a theme park hotel, but the date we picked is now booked full. There are still rooms available for the next week, we can even book a bigger room for the same price. But she needs to get a day off from work, so I messaged her if it's okay.

I'm really looking forward to it. With one night you also get two full days access to the theme park.

I'm making this taco soup in the crock pot, and since my wife is out of town, that means the grandson and I can pour on the fire. We can't do that when the wife is home. Mild banana peppers are too hot for her.

Discovering that I need to cut back the yeast a bit in my bread machine. Cooking a chicken in the Crockpot and posting here.

Thanks for the link to the recipe but, as far as "the fire" goes, I'm with your wife. I have repeatedly told some Texan in-laws that if you have to handle it with rubber gloves, it's not food!

(Hmmm. How does this board not have a fiery smiley?)

I heard on the evening news tonight that eating spicy food once or twice a week can add 10 years to your life. Of course, that's just one study and more research is needed to confirm those findings. I saw that on ABC's Evening News, but Time's online site has an article about it also, as do several other news outlets.

I just got a message from my sister telling me that across the canal from us will open a Yankee Candle store on Saturday. That's not good, especially if they sell wax tarts

. Hopefully they also have gift cards.

Meanwhile thinking of my 2016 reading challenge.
